What about the EU? Or are we last again (as usual )

Well we can always import it from US*

*unless you have to buy x360 version then we are out of luck as in ToV case.

I kind of think the "set to release on both sides of Pacific in 09" is something more assumed by the author of the article since that is technically the set release date right now, but I don't think this is an announcement or reassurance from SE.

I don't SE has ever come out and said when it's releasing in NA........

The only way it hits both regions in 2009 is if it comes out in Japan Summer 2009 and North America Fall/Winter 2009.

But there hasn't been a whole of precedent set for that small of a release gap...It will probably hit NA Spring 2010. (maybe Summer)

EDIT: There was a 7 month gap between the release of FFXII in Japan and North America. (March and October)

Not too mention Square actually has to start making that 360 version slowly down the release signifcantly.

The source... I've heard of time sometime but that's it; I know nothing of it. Do I just lack knowledge or is the source not very reliable? Besides, that seems to be the old info we got a few days ago with the addition of a release date for North America. Sure, it's possible but I wouldn't count this as a confirmation. The only confirmed information we have about the release date seems to be 2009 for Japan seen at the end of some trailer (the SE even last fall, leaked or something to the net pretty recently?).

I think i may have to make this my first import also as i don't think i will be able to wait until 2045 for the EU version lol

I take any date they give us and move it to the next period. If it set for Q1, the game will come Q2 and so on.

if it is already 2009 and a company says it will come out in 2009 with no Quarter even stated then I assume 2010.

All games these days seem to be delayed, and if no date yet stated I am doubtful.

But whatever, you guys can have your hype raised any more if thats possible and just be let down again when it doesn't come this year. It don't affect me. I'll be renting this come either Christmas break 09' or Summer break 10'

2009 is reasonable for America, I made a list of the recent FF games and how long it took to translate to an english version and it rounds off to about 6 months on average.

Square-Enix is releasing the Blu-ray Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children with the FFXIII demo with it in March I do believe. It usually takes a month or two from when a demo is out till the full release of the game. So lets say the Japan release is in May (two months after March) so that gives Square-Enix 7 months to translate it over to to english, which should be plenty of time. 2009 release for America should have a 90% chance.

Game Time it took to translate
Final Fantasy VII 7 months
Final Fantasy VIII
6 months
Final Fantasy IX 4 months
Final Fantasy X 5 months
Final Fantasy XII 7 months

It's impossible, this game won't be released in 2009 in the us, cause they have to port it on 360 so ... Or maybe they're gonna delay 360's version?
