2009 is reasonable for America, I made a list of the recent FF games and how long it took to translate to an english version and it rounds off to about 6 months on average.
Square-Enix is releasing the Blu-ray Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children with the FFXIII demo with it in March I do believe. It usually takes a month or two from when a demo is out till the full release of the game. So lets say the Japan release is in May (two months after March) so that gives Square-Enix 7 months to translate it over to to english, which should be plenty of time. 2009 release for America should have a 90% chance.
| Game | Time it took to translate |
| Final Fantasy VII | 7 months |
| Final Fantasy VIII |
6 months |
| Final Fantasy IX | 4 months |
| Final Fantasy X | 5 months |
| Final Fantasy XII | 7 months |
