Wow.....I guess I need to start watching bundle pricing since that is a good indicator for price drops. /sarcasm

Love the product, not the company. They love your money, not you.

@Theo:
I think instead that a large part of people criticizing PS3 for the price would like it, but they aren't willing to pay that price, $399, or, even worse, 399€ are a pretty penny for a leisure item for a lot of families, particularly in countries with cost of living, and average wages too, lower than the richest regions of USA, UK and northern countries.
Hey, if OP is right, then HUGE kudos.
I don't think it's solid enough to call firmly at all though.
@ Alby_da_Wolf
Ofc a price drop will help it sell, but in the balance I don't think it will be a profitable move by sony. These families that find 399 too much to fork for a Ps3 out also probably find HDtv's still too expensive. And a Ps3 is really something you'd buy to go with your big tv.
People criticize the price because it's the only reason they can think of when trying to explain why the Ps3 is coming third. Not the low amount of advertisements, not the later launch date.

Well, the way you guys are talking about a price cut in april, there will never be a price cut at that time. I think Sony has something huge up their sleeves this year. I am just waiting to see what Sony's next big move will be.
TO GOD BE THE GLORY

Currently you're right, but HDtv's prices are falling quite fast, a 32" LCD is now quite cheap and bigger than most CRT it's going to replace... Most families anyway, given the crisis, will replace the old CRT tv only when unavoidable, when the definitive switch to digital TV is approaching. By then all three 7th gen consoles will be cheap and all the current criticizing about price will be over
^^ that's true, a price drop is innevitable. But just not as soon as the OP is predicting : ) imo ofc*

Dont get your hopes up on a price drop just get it....
waiting for a ps3 price drop is like having sex with a hot girl from a bar and expecting her to call you
dont get your hopes up
Just a crazy thought but, what if they are thinking of raising the price? Didn't they do that to some Sony hardware in Europe? I was thinking at what time do they want to start making money off the ps3 hardware.
So there just about to break even on them and its a good time to drop prices again?
Why?
You wanna have your opinion, then you have to respect different opinions as well.

Raising the price would be the last thing they would do, very slim possibilty that will happen. They start making profits off the Ps3 Hardware when the cost to make them goes down just a little further, that should be happening soon unless they drop the price ofc.
Which is why I don't think they will drop the price too soon.
