These families that find 399 too much to fork for a Ps3 out also probably find HDtv's still too expensive. And a Ps3 is really something you'd buy to go with your big tv. People criticize the price because it's the only reason they can think of when trying to explain why the Ps3 is coming third. Not the low amount of advertisements, not the later launch date. |
Currently you're right, but HDtv's prices are falling quite fast, a 32" LCD is now quite cheap and bigger than most CRT it's going to replace... Most families anyway, given the crisis, will replace the old CRT tv only when unavoidable, when the definitive switch to digital TV is approaching. By then all three 7th gen consoles will be cheap and all the current criticizing about price will be over
