Forums - Gaming - What's your favorite system ever...and why?

Personally i would have to say my Amstrad CPC464, you never truely appreciate a game until you've seen it successfully loading after 20 minutes of a tape drive screecing at you. And being as mine only loaded a game successfully once in a blue moon, it would create a scene of emotion and euphoria to rival the ending of any FF game you care to mention lol.

Gamecube!

Best games (Windwaker, Melee, Twilight Princess, Resident Evil 4, Mario Sunshine, Battalion Wars, Rogue Squadron II)

Best controller ever.

Just plain FUN!

#1 N64- First console the J man was serious with. No console ever had the awsomness that was the one-two punch of Majoras Mask and Orcarina of time , two of the greatest games ever. Those were the days.....

#2 Ps2- So many AAA titles you didnt know what to do with them , had about 40 games and all of them were great. Ps2s are still selling , that should be a testimate of how great the system is.

#3- 360- Probably the closest to the greatness and variety of the ps2 library is the 360 library this gen. Coupled with hd gaming , superior online (actually thought online gameplay was overated before getting a 360) and with established franchises making apperances on the machine. 360 is a definite third.

N64 is the ONLY console of the fifth generation!!!

ps2: just better than anything.
and ps3 is catching up it quikly. absolutely.

PLAYSTATION®3

Original 80, or 60GB PS3. If we're looking at non-PS2 B/C models of the PS3, then PS2 hands down.

Wow. Lots of responses.

I think the one thing we can learn from all of this is that the gaming culture has a rich history. Every generation has been the home to so many classics that it would be difficult to ever have a chance to play them all.

I'm going to have to go with the PS2 as it's the generation I played the most. While I was there for the nes and snes days, I was so young that I couldn't afford to play that many games. It wasn't until the PS2 that I actually had enough disposable income (and time) to invest in a system. Sadly, those days will probably never return.

1.Wii
2.SNES
3.GCN
4.DS

Yeah I really love the wii. There has just been so many games coming out that I play for hours on end. Mario Galaxy, Zelda TP, Mario Strikers Charged, Metroid Prime 3, SSX Blur, Brawl, No More Heroes, De Blob, Guitar hero world tour, call of duty, mario kart wii, and alot more. It has just impressed me so many times.

The SNES is the same way I've played so many awesome games on it. The GCN was my first console that I started playing like more of a core gamer on and I have alot of great memories of it. DS is just handheld perfection, too many great games, and the coolest controls.

Support good third party games on wii. Buy games like house of the dead overkill, de blob, madworld, the conduit and boom blox.

SNES

Compared to the SNES PS2 looks very slim in the games department.

PS2. Enough quality games to last a lifetime.

People saying current gen consoles must be new to gaming...
