hope so, but dont think so
03/10/09 HUGE day in my life:
i'm gonna say probably it'll hit a million. although it'll take a year to hit it.
end of '08 predictions: wii - 43 million, 360 - 25 million, ps3 - 20 million
Games I've beat recently: Super Mario Galaxy, Knights of the Old Republic, Shadow of the Collossus

You beat me to it. This game will have a MUCH BIGGER APPEAL than anybody here is giving it credit for, thanks to Sin City's popularity in the mainstream.
I can see this game hitting 1 million.

Achievement is its own reward, pride only obscures.
HATING OPHELIA- Coming soon from Markosia Comics!
Possibly. I think it's mostly dependent on Sega's advertising and if they actually push it or not. I can't see them NOT pushing it though, because that wouldn't be a good start to their relations with Platinum.
Not only that but Sega keeps finding success on the Wii.

if it gets amazing reviews, (like 90 or above on Metacritic) than it can make 1 million.
End of 2009 Predictions (Set, January 1st 2009)
Wii- 72 million 3rd Year Peak, better slate of releases
360- 37 million Should trend down slightly after 3rd year peak
PS3- 29 million Sales should pick up next year, 3rd year peak and price cut

Because...it would've costed even more and niche games sell better on the Wii anyway. |
What niche is Mad World exactly? Please let me know, because it looks like a violent sandbox game to me. And you have no proof for the bolded statement either. (Especially being that Mad World isn't niche)
I will say it's rather annoying to see post upon post of "No" (or the occasional "yes").
I think it very well could break one million. It depends on the core base of the Wii. I could see why it may not though.

Because we saw how well that worked for No More Heroes. million is improbable. Might still happen because the "hardcore" gamer audience is slowly working their way to buying Wii games. 500k is likely.

How many times do we all have to go through this? NMH lived up to the developers expectations, so it sold the copies they put out for it. They didn't advertise or anything and still did well. If Sega actually advertises this and shows their expectations by a large amount of games out there, then I'm sure they'll hit that mark.

Will it get past the censors and the newspapers (yes Daily Mail, I'm waiting for you to follow up the "parents horrified as most violent videogame ever is lanched on the family friendly wii" story)? Manhunt 2 was banned because of the gratuitous side to the violence and even though this is cartoon style, because of that it may not get a release in the UK.
Last I heard it wasn't getting an initial release in Germany, Japan or Australia so if it is sluggish to start in the US that will scuper the other releases.
I have a horrible feeling that the game is going to be style over substance (as I feel about NMH) and will be too niche to sell over 1m. I can see similar sales to NMH ifetime, even with the increased install base.
btw, I hope I am wrong and that the game is fantastic
If they advertise the game it could hit between 500k and 1 million otherwise it will probably sell like No More Heroes. I will likely be getting it though (if it dosen´t completely suck).
