CES 2009: Guerrilla Games Says ‘Killzone 2′ Single-Player Campaign Will Be 10 Hours Long

News

During the Sony presentation at this year’s CES, Guerrilla Games’ Hermen Hulst was talking about their upcoming AAA title, “Killzone 2.” During the presentation, we got to hear more about things we already knew. The game will feature destructible environments, the camera will mimic the player’s eyes, dynamic music, etc. One piece of information given, though, is something we haven’t officially heard before: “Killzone 2″ will offer most gamers about 10 hours of single-player gameplay.

Of course, the number could go up or down depending on factors such as difficulty, your skill level, and whether or not you want to collect all the trophies. 10 hours single-player on average for a game of this nature isn’t bad, though–especially when the multiplayer will last much longer. And for someone like me who doesn’t have the privilege of hours of free time each day, it’s the perfect length. Hit the full story for Sean’s photo of the presentation slide with the news.

Well I guess its better than the usual shooter length of about 5-7 hrs.

I don't mind if shooters are only 6 hours long. As long as those 6 hours are filled with FPS bliss.

10 hours seems like quite a decent length for a modern shooter though.

I don't see anything wrong with a 10 hour single player campaign length. That is pretty much the norm for the genre. As long as the levels are designed well and the gameplay is good, the campaign should get multiple run throughs.

Sounds like most shooters.

Play on hard kiddies, don't cheepen the experience.

many Fps's aren't even that long...

^ don't be scared... embrace it.

i don't like fps but i just got online cod:waw (because of friends) and have only scored 2-3 kills each game... and suffered many deaths (though never the most).

edit: err... this was directed at radha.

Umm did they just brag about 10 hours single player??

come back with a single player with 20+ hours then we can start talking.

If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)

For Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee And teeming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritūs Sancti. -----The Boondock Saints
