Forums - Microsoft - Left 4 Dead is my No1 so far this Generation

I don't think I have ever been so excited playing online as I have playing L4D. It never gets old and I find myself having to tear myself away to get some sleep!

I don't need to write some long drawn out paragraph to explain why this is my No1 game so far this gen, but those who have played it should agree its one of the best so far this gen.

I'm really glad its now AAA on Metacritic .. it truly deserves it.

I'm really curious to see how addictive this must be then, since I love R2's co-op and that game hasn't even hit AAA status (nor will it).

So do people recommend a purchase of this game then?

I hope my 360 doesn't RRoD

AAA doesn't really make a difference .. I just said that because I'm glad the game now has that status.

I'm sure R2 online can but just as addictive as Halo and Gears ... but L4D is different ... thats how I feel anyway. Playing as the infected = big thrills!

I have only earned 90G's in the last 2 weeks (and that is only because i bought the PGR 4 DLC)

Do you know why i have only earned 90G's in the last 2 weeks? I'm HOOKED on Left 4 Deads online verses multiplayer mode.

Not since Virtua tennis 3's online multiplayer has a game kept me HOOKED for so long online.

I have played Left 4 Dead online for like an average of 5 hors a day for the last month.

ONLINE GAME OF THE YEAR.

and its in my top 3 games for this gen.

Yes, beleive it, its THAT DAMN GOOD.....!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm the same! my cosuins played some MKVSDC and Burnout the other night but apart from that the only game to go in my 360 since christmas day is Left4Dead.

I still have Fallout 3 in its wrapping.

How is it different?  I have played both R2 coop and L4D coop extensively, and I am surprised at how similar they really are.  Both games should be referenced as great examples of how to implement cooperative play.

@stubbs - L4D is a lot of fun but you can complete the game in about 4 hours and there is no true single player.  The coop gives you 4 movies (about an hour each), and currently the versus mode only offers 2 maps/movies.  Hopefully Valve will provide extensive support for the game.  On the 360 it will mean paid DLC, and on the pc it will probably be free.  Plus the pc will probably see extensive mods.  As it stands now, you need to pay full price for 4 hour coop and a 2 map multiplayer.

Thanks for the input, Jeff.

Different in that it mixes up the mold, playing as the infected.

Unless you can play as zombies in R2?
