well one side of it it looks stupid but the other side it lets the 'hardcore' (the ones who know what its about and want it day 1) get on early and try to get that 'edge' on the online multiplayer

but i think the stupid side far outweighs the other, sony needs this to sell

You do realize a demo is for the people that want to try the game, not the people that already know they're going to buy it correct?

Why would you try to sell it to someone that's already going to buy it?

 

right and as of now you only get the demo when you preorder. so the people who already know they want to buy it preorder it get the demo and play, try and get that 'edge'

like i said the stupid side (not just putting the demo on the psn for all to try) outweighs the other.

Well, just because the Gamestop demo has been confirmed for February doesn't mean there will not be a PSN demo. Maybe the PSN demo will be the thursday before or after release.

You get the demo early if you pre-order.  A demo is going up on PSN for all when the game is released.

Releasing an early demo to those who already want the game has one very positive side effect, even though this may not be so obvious.

It gets the hype train rolling of course. If people are saying the game is wicked awesome more than three weeks before release, should this not help sales among doubters?

EDIT: And I will be buying first thing after release.

Already got a preorder from Amazon. I will probably pick up a copy at Wal-mart the day it comes out though due to anticipation. Hopefully they have a CE for this game, because I am will to put up a lot of money for whatever they put out.
