Forums - Nintendo - Is the Wii stronger than the original Xbox, if so..

"As for the hardware, well-known video company ATI is behind the graphics card built for the Wii. Although the company has quite an impressive pedigree (the Xbox 360 uses a custom ATI GPU), the “Hollywood” isn’t likely to be their greatest accomplishment. The card is clocked at 243 MHz, meaning it’s a slug compared to the Xbox 360’s dual 500 MHz 90 nm chips, or the sole Nvidia G70 in Sony’s PS3, which packs 700 MHz worth of heat."

Best I could find on a quick google search.

Pretty sad when people use MHz as the sole measure of performance comparison.

I have yet to play a wii game that looks as good as Ninja Gaiden Black on the Xbox.

No one plays Wii for graphics tho...i dont even think the component cables are an essential purchase even if you do have an hd tv.

Unfortunately I haven't seen Ninja Gaiden Black running on the Xbox so I can't comment... I can try running it at 480p on the 360, but I don't know if that would make it similar to the Xbox version.

lol...yeah I believe that would do it.

I will try it when I get the chance... I'm almost 3000 km away from my 360 now. Anyway I don't think NGB's graphics are better than SMG's.

I think the Wii games that have pushed the tech (mostly first party) look miles better than any game last gen.

I think its a situation of relativity, really. Last gen games on consoles hadn't looked like that before, the N64 compared to the PS2 graphic wise was a huge jump. I think many people have an idea of what xbox games looked like when they first saw them, not as they hold up now. No game on xbox looked as good as Top Wii games now. In fact the Cube had 3 of the best looking games last gen TP, Metroid Prime, and RE4.

This is just me, but I've felt graphics hit a plateau since last gen ended.

Bet between Slimbeast and Arius Dion about Wii sales 2009:

If the Wii sells less than 20 million in 2009 (as defined by VGC sales between week ending 3d Jan 2009 to week ending 4th Jan 2010) Slimebeast wins and get to control Arius Dion's sig for 1 month.

If the Wii sells more than 20 million in 2009 (as defined above) Arius Dion wins and gets to control Slimebeast's sig for 1 month.

I'm ashamed of each and every last one of you!

30+ posts in a thread about the Wii, and not one of you has yet talked about sales.

You ought to be ashamed...we have a reputation to uphold!

See More Ninja Gaiden Black Various at IGN.com

Kinda looks RE4ish

Wow. I looked at some screenshots on that link, I have to say the 360 makes this game's graphics much better at 720p... I suppose these screenshots are correctly taken?

Ninja Gaiden Black from IGN reviews on Xbox (so it is on an Xbox)

Super Mario Galaxy

You can find me on facebook as Markus Van Rijn, if you friend me just mention you're from VGchartz and who you are here.

Doom3 for the Xbox looks amazing. Maybe Carmack should do a Wii game and show everybody how it's done.

Proud member of the Sonic Support Squad.

NG Black Xbox version (see the date in the file path...2005) I had to shrink the pictures as they wouldnt fit...that degrades quality. Check out the screenshots on gamespot as they are much better than IGN.

False comparison. Not only is that second picture reduced quality, it's a long shot of an area compared to a close shot area. Find a high quality pic of Mario running around a group of large enemies, and then you have a better comparison.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.
