Ummm, NO, it was an offer from Sony Europe which is why we got the same deal here in Australia as we are covered by the same branch of Sony. It wasn't just LBP, but also Resistance 2 (once it came out) and Sing Star, but LBP was still available as a free game with a PS3 as soon as it was released in the UK.

That promotion only occured in Australia, it wasn't available in UK or anywhere else in Europe. Whilst SCEE does cover all of the PAL territories, most countries have their own regional branch which are free to make their own local promotions and bundles. This was an SCE Australia promotion, not a general SCEE one.

Incorrect in this instance because the original unsimplified fallouts didn't sell very well. The "simplified" version has most likely outsold the originals by a large amount. Infact itwouldn't surprise me if it outsold their entire sales in its first week on the market worldwide. It annoys me to say so as I prefered the original version, but bethesda for better or for worse have brought fallout to the masses.

Umm.... there are over 17 million Steam Users, Impulse users, D2D users, and in RockStar's case straight from compaany sales.

I would no be shocked if FallOut 3 or GTA4 hasnt sold a million from those sources alone.

Errrr... you mean that the sales he just pointed out, with less than 500k (minus all the digital distributed deals) has outsold the Fallout series? but for lifetime total i wouldn't doubt it. Far more people now play games than they do before. And current HD consoles games are to PC games like Wii games are to HD console games, so draw your conclusions on how that concludes ><

Following the PAL charts threads I was regularly checking Amazon to see when they would be bundling LBP in UK as it was already available in Europe, and I never once saw that promotion. Even Sony Style wasn't offering LBP free with PS3 in UK at the beginning of December:

LBP PS3 bundles didn't show up until CW49, which is also when it bumped up the charts.

I politely replied to your post with a source to back up my statement, and you reply by calling me a bullshitter, with absolutely no source to back that accusation up. Why so rude?

Actually the 360 is the most UK centric followed by the Wii, but it should be noted that the Wii caught on in the UK and France much sooner. It was kinda weird watching the Wii Craze hit one euro country after another... France was first, then UK, then Germany, Australia, Scandinavia, Italy, Other Europe, then Finally spain in q3 or so of this year...

Basically we will see the Wii ratio Grow from here on out, I think it was 3 like was said earlier not too long ago.

Also as I said, you cannot extrapolate these numbers from the UK simply by multiplication. Maybe in the US you could do that with 1/3 of the raw data, but Europe (and other even further) has much more Diverse taste than In the US as a whole.

Did you notice how I lowered all the ratios, not just the Wii ones?

Ps3 went from 4.8 > 4.5

X360 from 3.25>3

And Wii from 3.33>3

That's because there is bought more SW in the UK than in the rest of Europe (comparatively to number of consoles).

Sure it's flawed, but I still think it is less flawed than using the straight out numbers.

Thats 2/3 of the tripple B's of PC WRPGs. Bethesda, Bioware, Blizzard... Its close to a trifecta, I can smell it.

It's happening a lot recently, look at UT3, if there was no PS3 version, thus making the PC version absolute and utter steaming pile of CRAP then it may have sold a lot better....

Basically, don't make a console port and fuck up the game and it sells like hotcakes, look at any BLizzard/VALVe game (L4D has to be the lowest scoring game they have and it's also on 360, pattern?), look at Witcher, look at Dawn of War.

Edit: Of course, the actual game has to be actually good to begin with.

Edit 2: Also how is it NOT better? Let's leave the fact that it runs best and looks best on the PC. Bethesda just realesde GECK, and you know what that means? More or less weekly free "DLC" (as I know you are aware, but a lot of others arent, in PC gaming this DLC is usually called mods) for the PC gamers.

Simplified huh? Like Blizzard did with Warcraft 3 and Diablo 1/2...

But in all seriousness these are terrible sales! We finally get that data and suddenly its the fault of the game? I mean anything except perhaps considering the reality of the situation.

Btw when you say runs the best, are you considering that many people bought gaming PCs in 2005/2006 and like good sensible people haven't upgraded significantly?
