Man, when do the numbers actually hit? I'm going to want to know ahead of time, so I can make popcorn and watch the explosion.

Pachter's prediction looks to be much more in-line with the PS3 than VGC if they stay steady for last week. 800k is not likely at all.

This December NPD is I think the 5 weeks ending January 3rd, which means we are still waiting on the final week.

but given that sales of the first 4 weeks are:

Wii - 3,162,172

PS3 - 740,675

X360 - 1,611,184

----(then X0.9)----

Wii ~2,850k
PS3 ~670k
360 ~1,450k

I think Pachter is pretty close to what VGC has, except for X360.
Sales will plummet in Americas for the about to be updated week, so Wii will probably make 3,100k-ish (unless it has supply problems)
PS3 will make about 750k and
360 will make about 1,600k, which is the outlier.

I predict December 2008 NPD console sale estimates will be:
Wii = 3.5 million
XBox 360 = 1.4 million
PS3 = 700k
