Loves me some Alan Wake news! I really hope this makes a Christmas 09 launch.

Well yes. At least until a hackgroup releases a XP patch (like they did it with Halo 2)
But in this case it might not run without DirectX10.....
| Kyros said: He said ingame. INGAME Actually its the ingame engine, rendered at a higher resolution and with added offline post-processing effects. At least thats what I understood. So a few caveats are in order. Nevertheless this game looks AMAZING. Similar to Uncharted this provides the cinematic experience and at least in the trailer Hollywood-style story telling I really love. Possibly the only upcoming 360 game I would really really like to play. |
Well, that, and Final Fantasy XIII, lulz.
Anyway, yeah, looks great. I want to play this, Heavy Rain, and L.A. Noire asap. Most of the rest of this crap coming out can go suck a bisquick.....maybe Star Ocean.
I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.
NO NO, NO NO NO.

It's always been PC/360.
From the OP:
Markus-With the exception of title screens (Remedy/MGS/Alan Wake), it’s all from the game engine. The depth-of-field effects have been added as a post-process to enhance the visual storytelling.
Q What platform was used (for the cinematic trailer)?
Markus-PC. The shots were taken in 1080p resolution (using 4xMSAA) and scaled down to 720p for web release. We are only releasing a few shots, and we wanted these to be usable for print purposes as well, therefore the higher resolution. The game looks very good on Xbox360 too but only runs in 720p.

@Skeeuk the only difference between PC and Xbox360 is the resolution. 720p and 1080p. But this is a higher resolution than GTA IV, so this will look great. I love the story (what we have heard so far), the style, the atmosphere, the graphics etc. And because it is a remedy game, I think they won't screw up the gameplay. My most wanted game! |
Markus never said that in the interview. He said, "The game looks very good on Xbox360 too but only runs in 720p."
All games that have been released on both PC and the consoles this generation have looked btter on the PC in more ways than just resolution. There's no way in hell a 360 game released 4+ years into the console's lfe will look the same as it's PC counterpart.
Isn't that an old set of answers? I read that Q&A a while ago
Hmm. PC for me for this from his comments.
Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...
Ill be sure to pick this one up on PC if it fares well in reviews (7+). Itll surely be better on PC in every way except possibly controls, but thats why they sell PC controllers :)
