Forums - Nintendo - Predict the next Nintendo Peripheral of 2009!

This is a pure prediction thread on a new Peripheral that you may think Nintendo will release this year, to grab a different audience of gamers.

We all know Nintendo has the attention of the Casual without any questions asked.  Will this year be THE year that Nintendo announces an amazing Peripheral for us Hardcore gamers?

Let's see what we could possibly want:

WiiGun - works with all shooting games that doesn't suck (*cough*Link's Zapper*cough*, *cough*Nyko's Zapper*cough*).  How about one more like this, but WAY less complicated:

WiiKick - to allow full motion kicking with WiiMote punching.

Those are my 2 that would be pretty awesome to have.  I'm not the most creative though, lol.

So go ahead Post your Prediction!

  • 2010 MUST Haves: WKC, Heavy Rain, GoWIII, Fable III, Mass Effect 2, Bayonetta, Darksiders, FFXIII, Alan Wake, No More Heroes 2, Fragile Dreams: FRotM, Trinity: SoZ, BFBC2.
  • Older Need To Buys: Super Mario Bros. Wii, Mario Kart Wii, Deadspace, Demon's Souls, Uncharted 2.

There is definitely more to list that I want, but that's my main focus there.

Lawl, that would be the ultimate selling Periperhal.

Warning: Does not come with edible food, all food is visually generated.

A pad of pressure-sensitive buttons in the shape of a plus sign. You would press in a direction to make the onscreen character move in that direction. Pressing two at a time, such as up and left, would make the character move diagonally. Unlike the more complicated controllers of its' competitors, this would be less daunting and more approachable to the traditional non-gamer market.

They could call it a 'directional pad', or, so they can stay 'cool' with the core gamer, the 'D-pad'.

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

Tag, courtesy of fkusumot: "Why do most of the PS3 fanboys have avatars that looks totally pissed?"
"Ok, girl's trapped in the elevator, and the power's off.  I swear, if a zombie comes around the next corner..."

Headtracking...Wii... I dunno.

Nothing? Motion Plus should be enough. Now it's time to focus on software

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Don't be ridiculous... They can never come out with something like that.. Or could they?

To delve further into thekitchensink's illogical yet stylish idea, we could also add two buttons on the opposite end. Sure, most will find it incredibly daunting, which is why I've decided to make it large enough for the player to know which "button" or direction on the "directional pad" (s)he's pressing.

Ta da!
