Forums - Gaming - To all who apply: Why do you own both PS3/360?

Well I initially bought the 360 when the GTA4 came out, along with with a few games i had my eye on, like Mass effect, then just before Christmas i got my PS3 for MGS4.

Though both consoles do have similar games, there are few exclusives released and yet to be released that are worth owning the systems for. I haven't really looked into whats coming out for the 2 systems in 2009 as of yet, but i am really looking forward to Heavy Rain and Alan Wake.

Because I own more exclusives for the PS3 and 360 each than I do for my entire collection of Wii games.

I actually have 17 PS3 exclusives and 17 360 exclusives. Kinda funny, but I only own 12 Wii games. There is more than enough PS360 stuff to keep me entertained.

Besides I couldn't go without having Valkyria Chronicles, Lost Odyssey, and Tales of Vesperia.

I bought my 360 for one simple reason, LIVE launch day. Most of my real life friends picked up a 360 so we game a lot together. With the addition of NXE and Netflix streaming, I would say Netflix if I were to buy one today.

I picked up a PS3 for Blu-Ray mainly and to play a couple of Exclusives people were hyping. Now that I own my PS3, I only rent games for it so far ( haven't bought one yet ) and play Blu-Ray movies. I ownly have 3 Movies in Blu-Ray but hopefully once they come down in price I will pick up more. That is if I don't sell/trade the PS3 and pick up a Wii. I have been tempted by my cousin to make a trade for the Wii and he give me $150.

I may just hold off and buy a Wii later or not at all. I do like playing with the Wii-mote on occasion but after a little while it just becomes annoying to me. Maybe if I owned one I would change my mind. By the way, there is nothing wrong with the PS3 or the Wii, I just use the 360 because that is where 99% of my friends and family play. I would probably have a different opinion of the PS3 if everyone was on the PSN.

i got both for the exclusives and because some friends only have a 360 or ps3.

Because both have different exclusives I want.  Could I live without God of War 3 or White Knight Chronicles?  Nope.  Could I live without Fable II or Lost Odyssey?  Nope.  So I bought them both.

I picked up both the PS3 & a Xbox 360 because both have features/items/games that exclusive to each system that i wanted. Both platforms have exclusives that wanted (on 360 - halo and gears, on PS3 - Littlebigplanet, Socom). Also the 360 because that's the platform my friends have and wanted to play online with them. The PS3 is also a great multimedia device - for Blu-rau & watching pirated films

I just flat out love HD gaming.

AceRock owns one PS3, one PS Vita, and one PS4.

I bought the PS3 because I love the Sony first party titles and I'm a big Final Fantasy / MGS fan. Even though that's multi, it's coming to Japan first (I know some Japanese) and Versus is as of now exclusive. Also, I was waiting for a format that was better than DVD before I started buying movies. Blu-ray did the job.

I bought a 360 for jRPGs only. Fable 2 and ToV are the only games I really like on the 360 right now. Lost Odyssey is a runner up with a few issues. Star Ocean 4 will probably be the next one. My friends love to come over and play Gears and Halo, so I do have them in my library. I rarely play those two games myself.

Well, the Wii. I don't see too much point in owning one before Dragon Quest X. I like Nintendo and Sony as companies much better than I like MS. All my friends have a Wii, so I can always play it when I want for Brawl.

"Naturally the common people don't want war: Neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, IT IS THE LEADERS of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is TELL THEM THEY ARE BEING ATTACKED, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. IT WORKS THE SAME IN ANY COUNTRY."  --Hermann Goering, leading Nazi party member, at the Nuremberg War Crime Trials
