The Sega Saturn had great games? The most gamers have a hard time to sum up 3 decent ones. Heck it even had no decent Sonic game.

steroid: the dc was on the market for 2 yrs in japan. In which time it had sold at the same rate as the ps3 currently does. I dont have data for the rest of the world on this website, and since it went on sale worldwide for about 18 months- 7-8 million consoles isnt bad at all. Just wasnt enough to keep sega going though. Im sure the ps3 will sell like hotcakes eventually(courtsey GT5//FF/KZ) but right now it isnt doing much better in japan than the dc did during its ill fated life.

Doubt is not a pleasant condition, but certainty is absurd.

owner of : atari 2600, commodore 64, NES,gameboy,atari lynx, genesis, saturn,neogeo,DC,PS2,GC,X360, Wii

5 THINGS I'd like to see before i knock out:

a. a AAA 3D sonic title

b. a nintendo developed game that has a "M rating"

c. redesgined PS controller

d. SEGA back in the console business

e. M$ out of the OS business

I think since Sony is a totally different company from Sega the PS3 is not the Dreamcast of today.

@disolitude

Id like to add to that list:

Three dirty dwarfs- i loved this game

Daytona USA

Yes I know what I am talking about.  try it yourself ask a gamer in your neighbourhood to name three decent games on Saturn and they will struggle to name them.

Just because gamers in my neighbourhood are uninformed doens't mean the console didn't have kickass games. The system didn't sell and sega didn't have lots of advertising behind it so word never got out... but people with saturns know that we really didn't have it bad at all until late 1997 when sega started shifting to dreamcast.

PS3 is this gens Sega Saturn?

I don't recall the Sega Saturn coming from 2 consoles which completely dominated the console market and even the games are not comparable. The PS3 is the PS3, it does not compare to any past console. It came and remains at a high price and is outsold by a phenomenon and another console because that one is cheap.

Even if the PS3 only does 10 million for the next 3 years (don't kid yourselves thinking that wont happen at worst) that is 50 million, which past 3rd place console came third?

OT but one statement I heard was that the PS3 has lost more money then the PS3 made. What amount is that and who was it that said that? I have a very hard time stomaching that until I see some figures.
