2008 was Sony's year in terms of gaming, this year will be stronger IF the games listed for this year release this year. Financially, sales etc NO, not until the PS3 drops in price which affects........finances.

If by Sony's year you mean WW leader in software and hardware (or even equal with Wii, equating to a huge turnaround), then no. If you are going use the quality of games arguement then according to some Sony fans, "2008 was Sony's year", so i'm assuming you don't agree with them or didn't mean that way.
Now that's funny: I have always heard Sony Fanboys proclaiming that "next year will be the year of the PS3". Now, they just say it will be Sony's year. Counting PSP. Oh, come on. PSP?
If you mean in terms of sales, I say absolutely not. If you mean in terms of games, while I agree they have some great exclusive releases for 2009, they just don't count because the Wii and the 360 have also great exclusives coming this year, so PS3 will be good but not superior. So, the final answer is no.

Feb 09: Demon's Soul, Street Fighter 5, Yakuza 3
March 09: Resident Evil 5, Warriors Orochi
April 09: Final Fantasy 7 Movie + FF13 Demo, Killzone 2
Barely see anything the rest of the year except for Final Fantasy 13 being EXCLUSIVE for Japan only. Also, new PSP colors came out just yesterday for Japan.
