In terms of game quality the ps3 and 360 were equal this year, though mgs was clearly goty. Both are great systems. The Wii outsold them both, but lacked the software quality that the hd consoles had. so its all how you interpret it.

Really?  I thought your point was that 2008 was the year of the PS3.  For the majority of your posts, you were trying to convince us that this year was still the year of the PS3.  You seem to think the PS3 is treated unfairly by the press.  Those are your points.  Not that they would in fact tie.  And I'm sorry, but anyone that says the PS3 got bad press and the 360 got good press, where were you when the RRoD was on every blog and news site, and all the "doom and gloom 360" threads were going on.  The fact that you ignore this again shows your fanboy ignorance.  You are either very bad at expressing your points, or happen to have just contradicted yourself so badly to make anyone following this thread question your sanity.  I don't think anyone ever mentioned how we decide the console of the year, but the way it is decided in the media, and by Sony's and Microsoft's standard, is sales, unfortunately.

It's the year of the PS3. God, I don't care about sales, even though this website entirely revolves around sales. Looks at the Wii's lineup for this year. Best sales, shittiest games. I'm a little surprised that the 3rd place "loser" console is getting so much better games than the competition. Argue that all you want, you could say the Wii or 360 had better games this year. But it really didn't, you'll have one hell of a time convincing me that they did. 2008- year of the PS3. And 2009 looks that way, unless MS and Nintendo both suddenly pull 10 amazing looking exlcusives out of their asses and release them before the end of 2009.

Your Statements are rediculous! What I have been saying is this whole time is that the rules of the game seem to change for the better of the 360 constantly. That 2008 is indeed, not the SOTY but it would be a tie between the two or it would be the Wii. My headline was phrased in the way it is to point out the obvious flaw of the way SOTY or whatever is determined. At first it would seem the criteria was game selection, then this year it turned into sales, when in actuality it should be a mixture of both.

I have not made any fanboy arguments and have stated nothing without some level of reasoning and statements of intelligence. You on the other hand are calling me a "Fanboy" when your main argument for ignoring anything I say is just that. I believe it is in fact you who are the FANBOYZer blah!

EDIT: And you are truly fooling yourself if you think the 360 is put in the same media situation as the PS3. THe RROD issue was not given the amount of spot light it would of had had it been an issue of a Sony console. Your are blind to think the media is even remotely fair to PS3 half of the time. I am pretty sure most reasonable people have seen this and accept it to be bias by now. It is pretty much fact amongst knowledgable gamers that the media hates the PS3 for unfair reasons. Just surf through N4G.com for a few pages and read the amount of DOOM and GLOOM articles for the PS3 in relation to the 20 to every 1 on 360.

The PS3 won 2008. Anyone saying otherwise is delusional. Sure, the Wii sold more, but it's a) cheap and b) doesn't sell any software. The 360 didn't even have any games that weren't sequels of some other medicore game.

It actually does sell software otherwise Nintendo would've gone bankrupt making all these games. Also 360 is cheaper than the Wii, but guess what still sold more. Wii. 2006, 07 and 08 were the years of the Wii. If you aren't including Wii because it isn'tHD, than yes, PS3 won 2008.
