No. It will sell at least 1M.

good luck because it won't, barely even star ocean 3 did.

in a still base twice the 360.

Selling 1.3M copies without any 'others' data is hardly 'barely' selling 1M. It likely sold at least 1.5M.

Do you want a bet? If SO4 sells 1M or more lifetime worldwide, I win. If it sells less than 1M, you win.

I know it's cliche, but I just hope the game is good.

PS3 fanboys...something I've noticed about you, is that you guys always resort to the business side of things, instead of examining reality.

For instance:

1. Instead of "the PS3 is too expensive" you say, "Sony CAN'T drop the price because of Blu-Ray."

2. Instead of saying "Star Ocean 4 is a 360 exclusive" you say "It's stupid/retarded to make SO4 a 360 exclusive."

Is it not also stupid to make Verses a PS3 exclusive?

The short answer, is you're hypocritical based on your bias. As always, I enjoy pointing that out.

I dunno if I qualify as a "PS3 fanboy", merely because I prefer it over my 360 and Wii for assorted reasons (I've been playing my new Jasper 360 a LOT more than I did my Xenon 360, though, now that I have no fear of RRoD... really hurt the 360 as a viable platform to me, in retrospect), but... its seems sorta foolhardy of SE and Sega to Make games like FF XIII Versus and VC exclusives.  Obviously there was some $$ exchanged.

3rd party exclusives are lame, from the consumer PoV.  I know a buncha 360-only owners who are pissed they can't score VC for the X360... and rightfully so.  Then again, SRPGs have never performed in a stellar manner, especially outside of Japan.  Given that, it probably didn't take much $$ to keep VC as an exclusive to the PS3.

I really, really doubt Valkyria Chronicles was moneyhatted. It just doesn't make sense to me that it would be. If Sony was of a mind (or the financial position) to moneyhat an exclusive, surely they would have cockblocked the 360 from getting FFXIII. Not some (admittedly awesome looking) SRPG. I realize the one would be more expensive than the other, but Valkyria Chronicles is damned unimportant.

The received knowledge I keep seeing posted around here is that Valkyria Chronicles started as a 360 exclusive and was turned down by Microsoft, which is how it became a PS3 exclusive.

VC? No way Sony would pay for something they already know that wouldn't sell much. Given it's SRPG - a niche genre.

versusXIII is not also paid IMO because that one is Nomura owned. PS3 fanboy he is hehe.

Of all the RPGs to go XBOX360 Exclusive SO is the most likely to succeed since it is more action oriented than traditional RPGs and hence more geared towards XBOX and XBOX360 owners (case in point almost every RPG for xbox was action RPG).

I bought my 360 after SO4 was announced as an exclusive. I am still bitter about it but I have enjoyed TLR and some other RPGs a lot.

VC would have bombed on 360 IMHO. SRPG is a very niche market and known quantities have a hard time selling a million.

I agree fully

1. Its not that popular a franchise

2. It won't sell systems

@ OP. M$ have bit by bit taken little chunks away from Sony in terms of the fanbase. Only tonight I had my daughters Uncle over who has wanted nothing more than a PS3. Halfway through the night and Gears 2 he is getting a 360, and he cant believe the cost compared to a PS3.

Games like Lost Odyssey, Tales, Star Ocean. The likes of FF13 and Tekken 6 for example all help sway more PS3 fans over to the white box of heaven.

I also am a previous PS2 gamer with over 50 games. And my Xbox 1 has 6!!!!

As a gamer and many others also are seeing the 360 as a more cost effective better gaming machine.

If Star Ocean hadn't become so popular on SONY platforms, it wouldn't even be worth money hatting.

Yes, let's make another silly thread about MS "stealing" all the RPGs Sony "stole" from Nintendo....

nintendo kicked them out. sometimes its nice to know about video game story.

it was 64mb (read small space) and nintendo snes third party affairs that made all the third party go to the more profitable ps1.

cheaper to produce Cds, with more memory.

You might recieve a well deserved ban for that "twit" insult on leo-j

Anyway, I believe Star Ocean wont see huge #s but it'll be the best selling exclusive/or timed exclusive JRPG on the 360, and that is good thing.

OK in that case lets just say he isnt the brightest chip on the bloc because he didnt know that in 2007 the PS3 was only partially released in select markets or alternatively if he did indeed knew he is deliberatly using data which is misleading then ok?
