I have to say fear 1 dissapointed me after a good start to it.I actually bought the game having downloaded  demo.i hope this is better but will probably check out reviews and blogs first.

 

If you were looking at FEAR  reviews you would have bought it as well...since it got something like 85 on 360 and 88 on PC on metacritic. I find that a lot of people that played FEAR on consoles tend to be dissapointed. One has to keep in mind that FEAR1 came out a year and change sooner on PC than it did on 360...and even alter on ps3.

Comparing it to games that were out on PC at about the same time(doom3, Quake 4, HL2) FEAR only comes second to Half Life 2. And if you like action and gunplay more than story I'd recomend it over HalfLife2...

good news, I'm still getting this for 360 though. F.E.A.R. was the scariest game I ever played and I expect the same in F.E.A.R 2

 

I wonder what the sells will be like though

I beg to differ, their best franchise would be AVP or NOLF. FEAR was good too though, I loved that game.

 

AvsP wasn't their franchise. FEAR is owned by monolith tho. They were hired to do a sequel to the so so first game and my god did they do a good one...but they don't own the rights to the game nor will they be involved in future sequels if there are any planned.

I think they own the rights to Blood, FEAR and Shogo and thats about it... rest of the games they made as guns for hire.

 

True true.  That still leaves NOFL though, and those games were awesome fun.

 

OT: What's with everyone and KZ2? If we're looking just at past achievements of the 2 developers, GG doesn't come even up to a 10th of the quality of games that Monolith has been churning out for decades.

good news for FEAR fans. I'm not a fan though, i played the first one and it was too weird for me.

I think its the whole exclusivity factor that PS3 fans are hyping killzone for. Its something non ps3 owners can't play. The demos they showed off look nice graphically I admit, but gameplay wise I havent seen anything that makes me want to buy a ps3 for. Every demo I've seen seems like...

Stop and pop a few guys...bunch of army dudes yelling...explosions everywhere...stop and pop...etc

On the other hand if FEAR 2 was a ps3 exclusive I'd buy a ps3 tomorrow.

I'd buy another PS3 and another TV for our apartment since I know my roommate will be all over it....

Maybe in sales on PS3...but 5 bucks says FEAR 2 sells more on PC+360+PS3 than Killzone 2 on PS3 alone. Not a big acomplishment I know...but considering that FEAR2 cost much sell to bring to all 3 systems, I think its worth pointing out. Game quality should be on the same level. I see both games getting over 85 on metacritic.

 

Is FEAR 2 going to sell multimillions of copies across all platforms?  As of now games usually sell best on 360, then on PC, then the PS3 last.   If tha is the case, odds are that FEAR 2 on the 360 outsells KZ2 or at least matches it, which then fails to give Sony the buzz it needs.
