My crystal ball shows me a picture of a PS3 bundle with Killzone2 and Resistance 2 on shelves two months after Kilzone 2 launch in NA to emphasise the shooter appeal of the PS3.
I wonder if it will work.

Well actually probably pc retail+steam sales of L4D will be higher than L4D on x360+R2 on ps3 combined together anyway for lifetime numbers.

And no one wants to buy it for the actual game, amirite?

As much as I'd want the 360 version of left 4 dead to outsell Resisitance 2 it wont in the long term. Maybe in the short term though.

I doubt l4d will, as much as i want it to. Having said this i dont think Valve will care because im sure that anything it gets on 360 is a bonus, since majority of sales will be from Steam

Valve has to be cheering sales of L4D on 360. it already exceeded lifetime sales of Orange box on 360 in a little over a month

You would have to admit, that for people who dont regularly check forums/review sites/whatever, orange box did not look overly appealing on the cover. Left 4 dead, however, i would definately consider even if i knew nothing about it.

L4D will definitely outsell R2 lifetime. That's of course including PC sales. If you are just counting 360 L4D then it will be much more evenly matched and it could go either way, though I think L4D might take it by a nose. If R2 gets heavily bundled (ala Motorstorm) then that might put it over the top though since L4D will most definitely not be bundled with the 360.

L4D with PC+360=Left 4 Dead > Resistance 2

I'd say that even without the PC sales counted L4D could make it, honestly i believe that Left 4 Dead will have better legs because it is just a different kind of shooter.

Resistance 2 will have legs compared to L4D.
