"I would not presume to speak for a game developer"

"Anyway, my original point still stands: The PSP has the most fitting game lineup for FF7 to fit into."

Looks like you just did. Either that or you are passing off an opinion as fact.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

You have given no particular reason to not expect it on the Wii, though. Just because no FF7 games are there yet? FF7 is not intrinsically removed by some core quality from the rest of the Final Fantasy franchise. It is its own brand, but it is still a Final Fantasy, and there is nothing except for its largeness that differentiates it. Yes, they put a spin-off on the PSP, but they put a FFIV spin-off on a cellphone and that means nothing at all.

I'd be willing to bet hard money against it being on the PSP... but at least you're aren't hedging bets on a PS3 version.

My bets are on the following titles;

- Eternal Darkness 2.

- Kingdom Hearts 3. (+ 1 and 2 port for Wii to get some hype).

- Final Fantasy 7 (Possibly PSP version port = Crisis Core?!).

- Resident Evil 4.2 (because there's still a lot of room for the story of Leon to continue and Leon has, as far as we know, nothing to do with RE5). Oh, and RE4 remake cashed in a lot of $.

- Timesplitters 4, hell... Nintendo buy the company!

- Geist 2.

Whoow, if this is for 09/10 it'll be awesome!

Free Radical had artistic vision for Haze :) Nice knowing they are doing really well with that.

Squilliam: On Vgcharts its a commonly accepted practice to twist the bounds of plausibility in order to support your argument or agenda so I think its pretty cool that this gives me the precedent to say whatever I damn well please.

Or not.

Reread that sentence and tell me where I'm speaking for Square Enix.  I'll give you a hint:  I wasn't in any part of it.

If I had said "Square Enix will put FF7's remake on the PSP because they feel it has the most fitting game lineup for it" then I would be speaking for the developer because I would then be putting words in their mouth as Khuutra did in this quote:

Square put Crisis Core on the PSP because they had reason to believe that that is where it would sell best. I

I have never been given reason to believe that Square understands anything except for money and their own immense hubris.

Really, there'll never be a FFVII remake on Wii, nor on PS360 unless sales will improve dramatically especially in Japan.

They could go handheld as with the earlier remakes, and then I see PSP as a possibility, or they'll want to make the most visually stunning game ever but then they'd also want the sales to match the dev costs, hence they'll want it on a big userbase.

That logic doesn't work - it could have been used too easily for Dragon Quest. The Dragon Quest shift will make JRPG buyers pick up a Wii in Japan. The base for buying FF7 will exist.

Yeah,  but there Final Fantasy remake train is getting old....

I mean, they're up to 6... so that means either report on the PSP or move up to 7.

Unless they skip to 8.
