According to Famitsu gaming magazine, Godfather II will take place in New York, Miami and Havana. The protaginist will have to take out rival families in these three cities to expand the "Don's" crime empire.

The player will be free to move around these cities, and can use violence and threats to take control of businesses and rival families.
