Forums - Microsoft - WRPGs are doing extremely well on the Xbox 360! They average 2.25M Sales.

Of course WRPGs look like they are generally doing extremely well when you only take the top of the top and average them. If you took the time to average all of all the WRPGs on the console, your result would be quite different.

What did he leave out other than 2 worlds?Edit: forgot Might and Magic that one was a real dissapointment.

Hey Squill dont forget Dragon Age should be huge on all platforms. Only other thing I've seen is the Alien(s) RPG from Obsidian. Its pretty much vaporware though.

Sorry double post

To be expected, most of the people who own 360's are westerners.

Whens that due? Is it 2009 or 2010? Btw oops I forgot about those two, I guess I didn't see them/forgot about them when I looked at the list.

Tease.

WRPGs over JRPGs. I personally do not like JRPGs at all. WRPGs all offer something different and they are more fun to play than JRPGs. Maybe I guess I do not understand and find the JRPGs too hard to play. WRPGs are easy pick up and play games that appeal to casual gamers like me.

X360 owners really love RPGs. RPG king confirmed. The genre is doing great, especially WRPGs.

I hope these great sales means new big budget attempts of new IPs are in the making. The low-budget titles such as Two Worlds and Gofic 1-3 (one of the Gofic games was supposed to come out on the X360 but I dunno what happened) haven't worked very well so far.

Pretty sure Mass Effect 2 hasn't been confirmed for 2009 yet, sadly. I don't even think it's been officially announced/revealed/whatever. It's just known to be in the works, and has been talked about by BioWare guys.

Still, there's a lot of WRPGs next year- Alpha Protocol, Dragon Age: Origins (due Q3/Q4, btw), The Witcher, Marvel Ultimate Alliance II, Sacred 2: Fallen Angel, Venetica, Divinity 2, Risen... and some others that slip my mind at the moment.

I'm pretty sure you mean the Gothic series.

1-3 wasn't supposed to, but Gothic 4 will release on Xbox 360 + the new game from the Gothic 1-3 devs is already confirmed (http://news.softpedia.com/news/Project-RPB-Gets-Official-Name-Risen-91550.shtml)

Oh, so simply "Risen" is the new name of Gofic?

And what is Gofic 4? Is it the same as the newly released Gothic 3: Forsaken Gods  that some people also call "Gofic 3.5".

Adding rise of the Argonauts should bring down the average considerably :P
