Forums - Gaming - Imaginary villains! must defend LBP to the DEATH!

Because its selling well, and people then attack it and say "HAHAHA IF IT WASNT FOR THE BUNDLE IT WOULD FLOP"

Then "sony fanboys" say "Well in NA its selling without it being bundled"

then bull $hit statements come out like "ITS $10 IN MOST STORES, IT BETTER SELL"

Or, "Its christmas, if it wasnt for that LBP wouldnt sell" or "Retailers are giving away free copies" etc.. "haters" of lbp always have an excuse to attack the game and its sales.

As a guy who enjoys platformers, I think the game is boring, thus making me a hater of the franchise. I own a PS3, though, but as people on the forum will tell ya, I own it so I can bash PS3 without revealing my secret hatred for Sony,Blu Ray and PS3.

Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

i love LBP!

PSN: B_U_L_L_D_O_G_G

XBL: BiggBully

Wii: 6629 9857 7201 4139

People have jumped on LBP for not achieving its predicted 5 million sales within the first couple of weeks. Which is quite frankly, ridiculous when you think about it

I hope my 360 doesn't RRoD

No, theres no real sarcasm there....I dont really care for LBP, I do think it was quite boring when I played it, though I will probably buy it on the cheap one day to give it some real hardcore time(I rented it when I played it). Also I truly feel a lot of people on this forum make valid claims about different topics and get called haters of the system/game, even when said system is owned by the poster. I've been called a PS3 hater as well as a sore HDDVD loser, though I own PS3 as well as dont care for any of the HD formats.

I've only just joined as a poster, however I have been lurking on these boards for quite a while, indeed quite a while prior to LBP's release so I have seen the contempt for this game from certain groups of Nintendo Wii and Xbox 360 fans.

The thing is that they try to talk this game down because they are jealous it is not on their platform. Such an innovative and critically aclaimed game is bound to suffer from this due to jealously, another prime example of this being Metal Gear Solid 4 (also on the Playstation 3). Because of the hatred of the game being on a different console, the groups have made up the ridiculous argument that the game is more like a movie than a game, which is ofcourse completely untrue and such statements will be shown in their stupidty as soon as one plays the game.

The facts are that LittleBigPlanet is a new IP, an innovative game that many said would fail because it is too 'kiddish' and geared toward an audience that didn't exist on the Playstation 3. The sales figures of the game to date clearly show the game as a success, as it is currently sitting just shy of the 1.5 million copies sold milestone and is continuing to sell well.

Another way the game was said to fail would be that the community levels created would not be of a sufficient quaility to sustain a high level of interest in the online and thus the game would die. This has been proven wrong with the flood of fun and well designed new levels created by community members.

If the above is too long:

In answer to the original poster's question then, the fans of LittleBigPlanet are defending the game against groups of fans of the other consoles who are jealous and thus feel the need to take their jealously out through attacking the game.

I wouldn't care it innovate but cute

this isn't the first leveleditor

The game is not just a level editor.

Creating your own level, uploading it, the rating system and indeed the online aspect of the game all bundled together create something that has never been done before, LittleBigPlanet is a unqiue experience on consoles.

ah you reduced your point to consoles only, clever. But do some more research first

Your talking about Blast Works huh?

Though to be fair i'm pretty sure Blast Works doesnt' do online co-op.  Just local.

Well, when they say MGS4 is a boring movie game, all we need to say is "GameSpot GoTY 2008", but with LBP, there's nothing along those lines.

Some people thought it would sell 5 million by year's end, some thought it would sell 500k LT. It is, of course, between those two.

Even more annoying than people hating on LBP is people insisting that every PS3 exclusive is going to be another Haze. You don't hear Sony fanboys saying every 360 exclusive will be another Too Human, right?

@ Kantor

Actually, Too Human wasn't that bad. Shadowrun would be a better turd to use instead of Too Human.

As far as LBP, yes, it is selling, but the folks dissing it the loudest are remarking about how much of a system seller it would be, how it would sell 5M and be the game to turn the PS3's misfortune around. No one is denying that LBP is a success, but not the success as some of our fellow VGCharterz had claimed it to be. That's all.

And there's a huge gap between 500K and 5M.

Of course you are going to see stuff like that, just like there are plenty of people that claim every PS3 exclusive is AAA and going to do massive sales.  There are plenty of comments along these lines for titles like Killzone 2, God of War 3, etc.  Resistance 2 and LBP were two of the recent titles that were hyped to death and proclaimed to be something totally out of this world.  If some people want to make claims like that, it is expected that when it doesn't happen there is going to be some backlash.

I actually see plenty of Sony fanboys attacking anything Xbox, and Xbox fanboys attacking anything Sony.  It has happen, does happen, and will continue to happen.  Everyone should be used to it, however this stuff still gets people up in arms.
