BUT: Since most people will always agree that Super Mario Bros is #1 all-time, I'll agree that WiiSports is now #1 all-time.

What about the Sims (PC) with sales of 16million?

 

 

 It has sold plenty, but it looks as if SML has it beat by plenty along with GTA:SA

I dont really think a bundled title deserves that recognition.. but oh well..

a. a AAA 3D sonic title

b. a nintendo developed game that has a "M rating"

d. SEGA back in the console business

Shouldn't it be Super Mario Galaxy or Mario Kart Wii? ie A game that is definitive with the name Nintendo.

WiiSports deserves it. Its still the best game on the Wii - easily.

We had heaps of people over yesterday (for boxing day/bday party), and after the cricket got turned off - the Wii got turned on.

...and what did people want to play - considering we have basically everything (MKWii, WiiFit, WiiMusic, ...)?

WiiSports - and it entertained for the entire day.

Best game, hands down - and it deserves it easily.

If you know of another game that's resulted in anywhere near as many people taking interest in the system as Wii Sports has, then please do inform us.

err I own a Wii too and happen to really like WiiSports. I just don't think that is should be considered the best selling game ever since it was not sold outside of Japan. 

Off the top of my head the top three non-bundeled games are

1.     Pokémon Red, Blue, and Green
2.     Nintendogs
3.     Super Mario Bros. 3

True, but most of their sales did not come from being bundeled.

However I believe darklich13 is proposing a middle ground, a game that may have been bundled at some point but whose sales did not came mostly from these bundles.  That is going to be hard to figure out.
