Meh, some people are already trying to make a big deal out of nothing. 132.000 is a decent result but it is nothing to brag about. And has anybody ever said that PS3 cant sell jRPGs in Japan? Link please because I dont remember a single person here saying something as stupid as this.

I can only remember people saying PS3 is not capable of selling jRPGs worldwide. I am one of those people and i still do think that way.

Yeah, I agree with this. Unless this game does amazingly well outside of Japan (it won't), I'm sticking to the 360 being an equal or better JRPG seller in the west, with both HD consoles about even worldwide.

OT: Sales are decent, about as I expected. Should end up around 300k lifetime.

How can you be so sure that WKC won't do really well in the West?  We have to wait and see if Sony market the game properly when it gets released in the West.

WKC did great compared to the other HD RPG titles that came out this year in Japan.

Phantasy Star is a bit of a disappointment though. Expected higher.

ToV did >100k week 1 on a userbase that is less than 1/3 that of the Playstation 3.

I didn't expect higher, but again, people viewing this as some sort of monumental success aren't understanding this situation correctly.

This game avoided failure. Plain and simple. I'm still very worried about its critical success in the states, however, which might determine wheather or not I obtain a Sony Playstation 3 once again.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

Torillian - Because everything else got a massive boost far exceeding LBP?

I mean, LBP could, and should get a boost come December. Problem is, that boost may get it to 250-300k for December. That'd put LBP at a very sad total for the EOY, and well under 1m sold through in the US.

That also means that VGC overtracked Valkyria by quite a large sum, and VC sold less than what ToV did in one week in August...For the US.

I guess the Playstation 3 really can't sell JRPGs. Even less so than the X360.

Did you notice I was talking about Valkyria Chroncles, which has done poorly in the West? WKC did very good first day, and I will gladly agree with that - Won't sell it's first shipment out it's first week, but it looks like WKC will do 180-190k first week, which is pretty good.

I guess the question is 'what is the most likely highest budget JRPG this gen, supposed to sell?'.

PSO on DS did pretty crappy. I was expecting far more from it.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

nice WKC #'s hope the hardware can get pass 50k

BHR-3 - Given the week, regardless of the game, 50k should be a possibility. It's the largest HW week in Japan.

Reading comprehension FTW, unless maybe you believe that the US is a part of Japan and thus claiming the PS3 can't sell JRPGs in the US implies the same for Japan.

"I do not suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it"

Pretty bad for WKC , all things considered . The fact that some sony fanboys see this as a success just shows the state of the ps3 right now both in its home territory and abroad .

Valkyria Chronicles isn't a JRPG, it's a SRPG! How many times do we have to repeat this? Also check Disgaea 3 VS Tales of Vesperia totals if you're so eager to compare SRPGs with JRPGs (in the US)

Highest selling First week HD JRPG in JP is "pretty good".  Guess all the 360 ones must be absolute crap.

And what is you comment about budgeting about?  Are you saying that WKC is the highest budget game?  And if so, were did you get that number from?
