Killzone 2 might have been released too close to christmas for a lot of families to have the money to afford it...

| Kantor said: ^Please, do elaborate. Why would Killzone 2 sell less than Resistance 2, when Killzone 2 is going to have massive advertising and better reviews? |
As I said, Killzone 2 will be marketed below par on Sony's part ( You don't have to trust me on this, just watch). Resistance 2 was marketed ok I guess, but KZ2 will be below that because KZ hasn't gathered a true base. It's almost like Sony has had to start from square one with the franchise. The game might be great, but the name will cause it the greatest of harm. This game could use alot of love from gamestop employees when unknowing gamers go into the stores. As for Sony's commercials on tv, they are vague and pointless. The only commercial Sony put time into that made sense was MGS4 and the launch games commercials. The rest of the commercials just confuse people. They need to get to the point instead of going around the point if they want sales.

Because Sony realises that an FPS will sell better than a platformer, because Sony has spent a massive sum of money on Resistance 2, and because hopefully Sony has learnt how to advertise by now.
| Krill said: Here's one similarity that counts: they're both released on PS3. R2 and LBP deserved better sales and I'm afraid we'll say the same about K2 after its release. The PS3 doesn't seem to move software the way that it should. The only game I see selling strongly is GT5. |
Yes, I am aware of that, but this is the first exclusive AAA FPS coming out on the PS3 with no Call of Duty to compete with it.
I know that's extremely specific. But just wait and see. One of us will be eating crow in a few months, and I don't think it'll be me.

I severely doubt that Killzone 2 will receive more advertising than LBP.

I agree, and LBP's advertising wasn't that great to begin with.

Okay you make a lot of sense with regards to Sony's track record but I am hoping that Sony doesn't pull a... well 'Sony' with Killzone 2 and actually advertise it properly. Considering the cost that already went into its production, I'm hoping they go the whole 9 yard and come out guns-a-blazing.
Seriously all they need is to show some in game footage and a bit of the cinematic in an advert along with those freakish glowing red eyes and it will grab people's attention like nothing else.

The first Killzone was rubbish which tarnished the brand name among core gamers. Also the ps3 user base it too small for it to games sell as much as the Wii and 360.
It sounds like the same old song;
When Lair is released it will be a system seller.
When Haze is released it will be a system seller.
When MGS4 is released it will be a system seller.
When Resistance 2 is released it will be a system seller.
When LBP is released it will be a system seller.
When Home is released it will be a system seller.
etc etc
