Forums - Nintendo - Should I buy an Xbox360 or tons of Wii, VC, and DS games?

I agree with DKII, play 360 at your friends' houses and have them come to yours to play Wii. If you want to play 360 by yourself to enjoy some great single-player experiences, or you want to play online with Xbox Live, buy one when the price drops again.

I think thats what I will probably do. Xbox360 has 2-3 years left in its life cycle, right?

Even if it didn't that doesn't mean the games you missed won't be new to you, and at a cheaper price no less.

Do you mean that good games will be coming out for another 2-3 years on the X360, andrew? If so, the X360 should have another 3-4 years of great top-tier games coming out before anything else comes out.

Every forum is biased, regardless. Your going to get totally difference answers in a Nintendo section of VGC versus the Microsoft section of VGC.

Andrew, go over to a friends house that has an Xbox 360 and ask to play a few games that your interested in. If you really like those games, go buy a X360. If not, keep the Wii. Sound like a good plan?

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

Go with the Wii, you'll get more bang for your buck and be invested in a pretty proven system. You can always wait till better deals come along for the other two if you really want games for those, in the mean time, go with the safest bet. Nintendo. There is a reason its outselling the competition.

Seriously go with your gut man. Do you prefer to play as many of the best titles as possible? Or do you prefer to play the Best on one system and then more games?

@sporticus: Why are you quoting Leo-j on that stuff in your sig? Those don't sound unreasonable. (Shhhh, don't anyone tell leo-J I stood up for him. He accused me of not owning a PS3)

I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.

How's your PC? If you get a good PC, you can probably put off buying 360 at the moment. (If and only if you are willing to wait for usually not that good PC ports, since everything except Blue Dragon will be on PC, if either already or sometime in the future)

On the other hand, considering you can't buy most 360 games due to parent restrictions, Wii + DS +VC looks like a much better option, however RE4 is a M rated game, and should be cheaper unless than your listed price unless you live in Europe.

I am a PC gamer, and also have a NDS now, but without access to a Nintendo Wii until End of 2007.

Currently playing: Super Smash Brothers Brawl(Wii), Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer(DS), Dragon Quest Heroes: Rocket Slime (DS), WiiFit(Wii)

Games Recently Beaten: Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a King (Normal; Very Hard after the next DLCs become available)

1 word: RTFA

personally I´d go with the 360 out of pure logic logic, will you have time to really play all those Wii, DS and VC games...???  I´d say if you buy two of each, that will last you a while...you can catch up on the rest when they are cheaper, having a Wii360 will give you a bigger and better selection of games to play (the big three plus the 360 überlineup this x-mas will give you lots of choises). Another thing is the 360 game library... no not the one you can buy, the one you can borrow from you friends, I bet there are a lot of games they have finished just waiting for you.

Its always better to have more consoles and more game options, lots of great games in the furture will be only Wii or 360/PS3, so haveing one of each will give you all games you want exept the PS3 exclusives, the games you whant now won´t run away (and will get cheaper) but it might take some time till you have enough money to buy a 360 and some games.

El Duderino makes a good point, Go with the Wii60 and you'll have access to basically every game worth having.

Why isn't SSBB on your list?

"I mean, c'mon, Viva Pinata, a game with massive marketing, didn't sell worth a damn to the "sophisticated" 360 audience, despite near-universal praise--is that a sign that 360 owners are a bunch of casual ignoramuses that can't get their heads around a 'gardening' sim? Of course not. So let's please stop trying to micro-analyze one game out of hundreds and using it as the poster child for why good, non-1st party, games can't sell on Wii. (Everyone frequenting this site knows this is nonsense, and yet some of you just can't let it go because it's the only scab you have left to pick at after all your other "Wii will phail1!!1" straw men arguments have been put to the torch.)" - exindguy on Boom Blocks

Do you guys think I should get a 360, or just stick with nintendo games? I kinda want to get lots of M games and play the same games as my freinds, but I have also always been a diehard nintendo fan (well, at least since age 3) and am sure that my freinds wouldn't mind coming voer and playing Wii games... its just that when they talk about Halo 3 at school, I'm going to be clueless, the same way ive been clueless about Oblivion for the last 12 months... (though all the xbox games mentioned I really do want, but same with all the nintedo games I mentioned, and I'm getting mario galaxy and ssbb for xmas no matter what)

What do you guys think I should buy?

IMO, go withthe more wii games.

Spend some time at one of your friends house playing Halo, and have him spend some time playing Resident Evil 4 at your house. Then decid.

PS:  RE4: is only $30 and Money Balls had a price drop to $40 now.
