| Stever89 said: 2) Wii Music says, "Hi". Wait. You say Nintendo is not trying new things, and not trying to innovate, and taking easy cash ins... then you name one of the newest games, that at least tries to do something completely different? Whether it's your cup of tea or not doesn't matter... the fact that people are buying it shows that it's more than just a turd. Also, I'd like to see any other company turn out as many AAA titles in 2 years, even if we just go by your belief that Brawl, SMG, Zelda, Metroid Prime 3, perhaps Fire Emblem, not to mention other smaller games like WarioLand: Shake It, Dr. Mario on the WiiWare, Disaster... along with poorer (but I would assume still rather good) games like MKWii, ACWii, WiiMusic... Some companies (EA...) are lucky to produce one AAA game and a few AA games a year... Nintendo has done that 10 times in the last 2 years already. Give them a break. And how many companies don't just throw out the same thing year after year with better graphics, and a new name? We get COD every year... We've had 3 or so GH in little over a year... The big games on the PS3 and 360 year after year are sequals... God of War 3, Halo 3, FF13, GTA4, MGS4. Even new franchises like Bioshock are going to turn into Bioshock 2, 3... these games can still be great, and not change anything major... At least Nintendo tries. They aren't perfect, I wouldn't expect every game to be great. I suppose it's not bad to expect most games to be "good enough," which I'm not sure Nintendo has failed at yet. But eh. Like others said, if you're going to "stop" being a fan of Nintendo's games and/or stop buying them... I would guess you'll just miss out on a lot of great games. |
Well said!

And Kn since you're done with Nintendo and therefore the DS as well, may I recommend Loco Roco?

I'll perhaps check it out. LittleBigPlanet (truly innovative) is keeping me busy at the moment...
Stever brings up a good point. Nintendo has been provding the Wii with hit after hit, and they've nailed the games that have come with incredible hype. Brawl is my favorite of the Smash series, Galaxy is my favorite 3-d Mario platformer since the 64 version, Prime 3 is still my favorite single player experience I've had on the Wii (and the gen thus far) and Kart is the best console iteration since the 64 (Sorry Bigjon, I loved the 64 version)
I don't think there is another company out there that has been as consistent at providing quality games as Nintendo is.
Bet between Slimbeast and Arius Dion about Wii sales 2009:
If the Wii sells less than 20 million in 2009 (as defined by VGC sales between week ending 3d Jan 2009 to week ending 4th Jan 2010) Slimebeast wins and get to control Arius Dion's sig for 1 month.
If the Wii sells more than 20 million in 2009 (as defined above) Arius Dion wins and gets to control Slimebeast's sig for 1 month.

MK64 seems to be a love it or hate it type game.
It goes
Wii > SNES > DS > GC > GBA > N64 for me
End of 2009 Predictions (Set, January 1st 2009)
Wii- 72 million 3rd Year Peak, better slate of releases
360- 37 million Should trend down slightly after 3rd year peak
PS3- 29 million Sales should pick up next year, 3rd year peak and price cut

Disregard this post.
Pixel Art can be fun.
So you're going to miss out on all the great games the Wii has and will have (from Nintendo and third parties), just because you're disappointed in Nintendo? That's just cry-baby status right there, man.
Also, just because Wii Music isn't your style of game, doesn't mean it's a "turd", and you classifying it as such is just showing your elitism and whining personality.
Take a chill pill, calm down, and don't concentrate on the things you don't like. Try to look at the good things, like the games coming out in 2009 that you might enjoy. You really seem like you're on fire at the moment.

Ive spent more hours on wii music than all the games mentioned on this thread so stop saying its a bad game dammit !
@Torillian: Sorry, I was referring to AAA and AA titles Nintendo has released in the last two years, with the first group of games (ending with Fire Emblem) would be the AAA titles (note that FE *might* be AAA), with the rest being AA (some may go AAA - like MK, but let's just say it's not, while others may go A, but ... yeah). I would say most of those are one or the other. Perhaps a few are A's but we can sit here and argue over how good a game is, but we all know that never gets us anywhere.
All I was trying to point out was Nintendo has released a few great games, and a great deal of "good enough" games - and for all types of gamers - in the last few years while many other companies only release one or two "good enough" games, and maybe one great game if they are lucky. I would say we should give Nintendo the benefit of the doubt on some games - like AC (though some disagree) and WiiMusic (whether you like it or not) - simply because overall they release hit after hit.
