notice the no. 24 game (19th undbundle game) sold around 450k.

that would put COD:WaW Wii undertracked by a mere 270k or so in NA alone, right now it is tracing really poorly in others, makes me wonder if it is not doing better there.

This. =)

I see.

I can't say I'm comfortable with using that. There are far too many discrepencies between NPD data and VGChartz data for this region and this month to use one to fill in the gaps for the other.

I agree with you, but it is at least strange that the game is at 19th place for NPD and 112th place for VGC.

VGChartz have the sales of CoD: WaW (Wii) at 170k units, and besides we don't have the numbers for NPD, December is a hot month and surely it is at least double that number at 19th. So I think that NPD is overtracking it soooooooo much or VGC is undertracking it a lot!

Somebody would have to change their tracking methods, I hope that Activision comes and explain who's near the real numbers.

(If there's any error, sorry my english)

Your English is perfectly understandable (better than some native speakers, in fact). And you're right about the frustration in not having NPD numbers for anything other than the top 10.

We DO know that Rock Band 2 sold at least 150,000 for the Wii in December, according to its publisher, and that Call of Duty sold at least more than that, Shaun White, and NERF, so I'm comfortable with placing it, at a minimum, between 150k to 200k.

I'm fairly sure the number is over 200k, but I have nothing but my gut to back me up on that.

And I'm sure that in a few months, Activision will release some numbers.

it would definetly be good for core wii gamers

lol... it's funny how sony fanatics try to overshadow the fact that this game totally didn't flop.  Seriously actually sold decent and I just can't handle it with all this self-interest radiating out of my self-conscious body.  Face it people.... with such numbers Wii WaW did better than we thought and shows how mainstream properties continue to succeed on the Wii.  Legs?  You bet.

Now Mr. Self conscious I suggest you stop whining about what others are thinking and care more about things that interest you.  It's rather disturbing that to get your self-interested kicks you have to attack something else.  Is nothing good happening at your camp my friend?  Let's hope you don't get banned because that would be saddening.

Hey, look, a sonyboy that don't read the thread =)

With such a wonderful opening sentence, I am certainly willing to keep an open mind regarding what you say. Go on.

Out of curiousity, are we trying to sell this hypothetical s*** at, say, a department store, or at a meeting of fertilizer manufacturers?

Wait, are you telling me they're "depressing," or "more than depressing"? Noname is confused now...

Hey kids! Can you spot who here hasn't actually bothered to read the thread?

Seriously though, in the future, when you want to make a point, it would benefit you if you did so with at least a hint of class. Had you acted like a person with some semblance of manners, we'd be willing to seriously entertain your points, and perhaps you would have won some people over. As it is, now no one's really going to listen to you. In fact, most people are going to think you're a bit of an idiot. "Most people" totally doesn't include me, though.

Scout's honor.

You've predicted 225k as for week one. It doesn't seem to exeed your expectation. In your own thread noone predicted such depressing opening (~60k) - the funniest thing is even I went with 130k.

It doesn't sell better than you thought pal. Plain and simple.

Actually the softs were pretty good with the exception of a few games that are way off. Most of it is HD softs overtracked and a few Wii titles (I think brawl is about 50-100k over tracked)

But the amounts each number sold are about the same, I say it is safe to say that it sold at least 420k at number 19 in all of NA.

Except that between NPD numbers for October+November, and IGN's latest temper tantrum, we know that Wii Music (number 11) sold around 450k in the U.S. in December (according to the NPD), which is much less than the 761,321 VGChartz attributes to that position. And I find it tough to believe that the difference between #11 and #19 is less than 50k.

While I normally think this site's numbers are good enough (for the top 50 at least), it seems like December's a bit of a wreck, at least concerning the U.S.

Well, Wiimusic would be closer to 500k with total NA, still alot less, but the no. 10 game sold about 570k in NA according to NDP (add about 10-15% to 500k for AC) also sales drop more steadily the further down you go. I would not be suprised if no. 20 sold 420k while number 10 sold about 570k. I think VGC was too high on the top 10 or so, NDP seems to indicate more steady declines.

According to VGC every game in the top 50 sold 260k, maybe it is all alittle to high, but I am still willing to bet that every titles did at least 220-230k...

End of 2009 Predictions (Set, January 1st 2009)

Wii- 72 million   3rd Year Peak, better slate of releases

360- 37 million   Should trend down slightly after 3rd year peak

PS3- 29 million  Sales should pick up next year, 3rd year peak and price cut

@Kyros, I guess I'm stupid for choosing to play WaW on the Wii?

 I'm stupid too.

Awh I'm still sensing jealousy and self-interest.  For such a self-centered person you sure do care about the rest.
