Forums - Microsoft - 360 sales are inflated due to redundant purchases from impatient gamers.

Difference is that the X360 has 15 million paid subscribers for the X360 alone, whereas PSN has 15 million unpaid subscribers between 2 devices - the PS3 and PSP.

I believe the 15 million includes gold and silver accounts.

That is most likely the case, however, many (most, probably) of those accounts are also paid.  So you've got at least as many subscribers, many of whom are paying.

Not that I think that's any better than free subscribers overall.  But whatever.

Some of the quotes concerning the 14m XBL users have stated that it was @ 14 million gold users, and not gold + silver....But the articles could be wrong.

Also, little blurb about the amount of content being downloaded on PSN vs. XBL:

Xbox Live: 500,000,000 Pieces of Content Downloaded

Playstation Network: 273,000,000 Pieces of Content Downloaded

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

The only problem with this thread is that the OP used the Heading:
"360 sales are inflated due to redundant purchases from impatient gamers."

The heading implies he already has reached his conclusion, rather than his statement in the post which claims he is asking us whether or not we think it is true. The topic would have been better had it used a better heading, such as:
"Are 360 sales affected by RRoD inspired multiple purchases?"

Not to mention, with PSN being free, many users make multiple accounts per PS3/PSP just to take advantage of games like Call of Duty.  Still, some people will pay for multiple Gold accounts to do the same thing, but when it's free to make as many as you want, many people do that.  Considering about anyone with a PS3 and internet will sign up for a PSN account, how many actually actively use it?  Sony doesn't say how they judge an "active" user, and neither does Microsoft.

I know someone who bought 2 ps3s.

That means we should actually say it sold half then it has, omg am retard here

Note: Some games in my collection are no longer owned, but have owned.

Evidence indicates: Only football/soccer games sell more on PS3 than XBox 360. Around 9 times out of 10 XBox 360 version of any given game will sell more on XBox 360 than PS3.

yeah and a lot of people bough another 360 because they got banned from live, but thats how life is =), better for miscrosoft, they earn more money, still they sell more software, so they really dont care...

Did anyone ever think....

If you buy a 360 3 times due to it's failure that you could have bought a PS3 once with
-a likely 0 failure rate
-around the same quotient of games seeing that most games are MP now.
-Free online instead of subscribing
-A bluRay player

Wow! I just realized how stupid our society is........I feel sick!

Troll much?

Unless you have modded your 360, MS will repair it for free for 3 years, as long as its RROD.

PS3s have a *likely 0 failure rate?" O'Rly? Source on this, dude.

You would have had to wait last year's GOTY Bioshock, for a year while Xbots played it on Day One. You would also be able to play Gears 1 and 2, Halo, Ace Combat 6, Mass Effect and a whole gaggle of games that still haven't seen the light of day on the PS3.

You get free online with LIVE Silver.

Why upgrade and pay over $25 per movie? Makes no sense if you don't even own an HDTV.

And lastly, why are you even in this MS thread, touting the *greatness* of the PS3?

this hole thing starts out like Monday morning sports call in show after sitting threw there highly ranked teams tail kicking over the weekend.

that's like saying our PS3 product stinks so bad people will buy 3 and 4 of something that adds up to a cost of more than there product cost just to avoid the junk.its post like this that doesn't help the sales for the PS3 it hurts them and totally goes agents last month argument about the high price of the PS3 is what's hurting sales. well if your buying more than just one of the competitors product that's throwing the money part out of now.

i hope Sony can turn it around some, we need both to push each other and will only help the consumer in the long run but there supporters need to stop hurting them.

Yep, i'm a girl

If that were true, you'd see it in a lower attach rate.

Yet, today, America's leaders are reenacting every folly that brought these great powers [Russia, Germany, and Japan] to ruin -- from arrogance and hubris, to assertions of global hegemony, to imperial overstretch, to trumpeting new 'crusades,' to handing out war guarantees to regions and countries where Americans have never fought before. We are piling up the kind of commitments that produced the greatest disasters of the twentieth century.
