I don't think I'm going to be quite that shocked. Because considering how long it's taken to get as far as I have, I couldn't imagine the game taking 100% to beat!.

And how far have I gotten you ask? 33% I got the Wave beam missle and the Ice beam! Those bloody chozo ghosts scared the crap out of me the first time around! But I must admit, I'd like to be able to enter that temple room just ONCE without having to fight all 3 of them.

Hehe, the first time I fought a ghost was  also the first time I saw Samus' face reflected in the visor. Of course, now I know that it just means I was facing a bright explosion, but at the time, I thought the ghost was trying to eat my soul or something.

Well, I actually got weened off of the original metroid back when I first played it in 89 lol. I've played every one since, except for Fusion. Never really got into GBA too much.

Just kiss the tip.

Does anyone on this thread had see the Aurora preview ?

There's a big spoiler about the posibility of Mother Brains's return in the game !!!!!

Gamertag : Dark Red Icarus

Gamerscore : 29000!!!! still growing

PSN ID : Gamer9851

Now Playing : Soul Calibur 4 and World of Warcraft

There's certainly a nod to the original games. I'm not sure if it means she will be in it. They are just giving you history on thexe Aurora computers. Likely we will be fighting an Aurora (or aided by one) but I doubt they will replicate Tourion or the final room from Metroid. But who knows. Maybe since we get to go to multiple planets they might do a little Zebes re-creation. As big as that world felt, in 3-d it would appear much smaller. And like in Super Metroid you don't need to show the whole world. Just a few landmarks and we'll fill in the rest.

[Disclaimer]

This thread is a place for Metroid fans to discuss the metroid series, past, present and future.  This thread is not about the hype or lack thereof, nor is it about how many units Corruption will sell.  It is not a place to lambast the series for not being an unmentioned game.  There are several threads already in use for that.  Please, no trolls.

Welcome to the Metroid Countdown.  While many of us, myself included, can't wait for Corruption to come out, we should appreciate the coming weeks.  How much longer will it be until we can say that a new Metroid is coming out in just a few weeks?  Two years?  Maybe three?  In just a short time we all will have uncovered most of the secrets that lie hidden in this new Metroid saga.  Savor your ignorance.

As of this update there are 12 days left until Corruption.

Everyone please take the time to reveal some of your most exciting Metroid stories.  When did you first get into the series?  What is your favorite game of the series?  Do you remember any especially difficult items to find?  Judging by my screen name I have a certain fondness for three wall jumping critters that bewildered me for who knows how long.  Let's pass this time with a touch of Nostalgia.  I'll update the countdown daily.

I am already sad that once I beat it that it will be years before another (Secret DS Metroid, please be in the works.)

Maybe retro can make some great new franchise. (EDIT: Raven Blade?)

I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.

kid icarus? Whatever it is I don't think it will be in 1st person. That was Shiggy's idea.

Super_etecoon, yeah, I think Nintendo may trust Retro with another big franchise. But honestly, they've been so creative and inventive that I would like to see them do something totally new. And I agree (about 80%) that it won't be FPS/FPA... though if it was it wouldn't be a bad thing.
