"Because when you say multiplatforms that includes PC and the HD console versions? Though you did say the DS, the PS- OH WAIT! The Ps2 version was a different game altogether, its not the part of the main title its a different game."

The thing is that in mutliplatform releases, a team is given a budget to make all versions they are working on (versions by different teams have their own budget). Thus the sales of the entire release set is used to determine if the set makes money. If one version sells poorly, that is reason to consider not doing it next time, even if the set makes money.

But since the Wii version is still selling, it's not selling poorly.

So the PS2 and DS versions will cut off? Because its selling poorly but then, the PS2 version was really entirely different game so its OK.

So it depends on if the Wii version still selling and also the PS360 version was still selling wasnt it? SO the next COD Wii version really depends on how much all versions are selling theyre all dependent on one another. Its still odd if you ask me:/

I think COD WAW wasnt really a sequel to COD more of a spin off thats why the reason why it called COD WAW not COD 5. So COD 6 perhaps?

Would you say the wii version is selling enough to justify the next one? For a user base the size the wii has, the sales seem pretty low to me.

Just simply put, when its multiplatform, the profit and sales are dependent on each other even how many platforms the game has. So if the game sells in another platform the profit was still profiting as a whole. So the Wii version still profiting even the Ps360 versions do the selling. Yeah, its odd...

You new here? Wii sales are not measured in short term. Games tend to sell over months. It's what's known as "legs" in the entertainment industry. Games written off as flops or disappointment on the Wii turn into hits months later.

This game could likely sell well over 500-600k by March (end of the next fiscal quater).

As for userbase, that's a fallacy. It's about profitability, regardless of the system. PS2 games didn't generally sell five times their equvalent on the Xbox and Gamecube, and they didn't need to.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

No, there won't be IW cod on wii. Just because CoD:WaW flopped badly.

@yushire

PS360 sales won't make wii version profitable. That is just stupid.

I understand that but my earlier point was that the poor sellers of a multi-plat won't necessarily be considered for the sequel if their sales were too low, hence the question, has the wii version sold enough?

LordTheNightKnight is correct from my knowledge of the video game industry. Even if its sales are not proportional to the userbase of that console, a dollar is a dollar. 50+40+10= 100 would a company not want that 10 more in profit if dev costs are shared?

Its hard to say whether Infinity Ward will do COD6. But COD WAW wii felt like they were putting a bulk of their code and engine on the Wii. So why would Activision invest time into it if they didnt see future returns?

COD WAW Wii isnt selling like madness compared to the HD systems but I think most dev studios are aware of the demographic the Wii caters to. They weren't expecting 3.1 million on the Wii. I am sure their expectations are somewhat realistic. As said before, they look at the number overall weigh that against the cost and then make a decision.

At least that is my best guess.

Thanks. It's been a while since I've been patronised. I didn't realise games sold over months, must go back to school.
Could you be grown up enough to answer my question? There's selling (Zack & Wiki still sells) and there's SELLING (MK Wii).
