I think this is the smart move, i wouldnt actually cut it now till after the 360s next cut in october, to kill all the momentum that cut would give the 360, and carry the balance for the holiday season, while working on profits in the spring

Sony should bundle the PSEye with the PS3 as well as a game or two that supports it (not EoJ)

I hadnt thought of that, but it would be a way to stand out... maybe they could work on home/eyetoy functionality .... though they might want to make those invite only or age restricted rooms.... (separate the wii little ones form old pervs)

honestly as bad as sony NEEDS a pricecut at the moment to be really competitive i agree that a price cut in the first half of 09 would be a bad move. It would sink sony into too much more debt. One thing though OP while a pricecut around the time of another 360 pricecut would kill the 360's momentum it would gain off it wouldn't it also kill the ps3's? kinda cancel each other out? and personally i don't see a 360 price cut at anytime in 09

@those who disagree with the idea of killing momentum, okay maybe killing is too harsh a word. what im getting at is if sony waits till after ms yearly price cut (should be around october). the pent up demand for the ps3 at the lower price will drasticly out strip the 360s with a reduced tag (though im speculating that the core/arcade will beremoved from the line up and the pro will drop to 199) this will have the effect of killing off hype for the 360s cut, and sony should really push the price through advertising

so are they going to add back the things they took out?

you know i have thought with the next price cut they could do that push an upper tier model out at the ps3s current top end pricing with at least B/C. however, only do this if the unit os profitable to start with if not wait until you can include hardware B/C
