Forums - Nintendo - Boogie gets 3rd review...

Look`s like it will surely become like this. I don't think this kind of people (professional reviewers from media) are exactly what we call of "social" individuals. Boogie is an awesome social game, kinda like karaoke + bust-a-groove, so isn't the "preferred" game genre of them.

But who cares? My taste is a bit strange. At the time that I feel ready to vomit playing games like Okami (scratches and buggy sounds that nerves me!), I like to have some multiplayer loves whit shitty games like Alien Syndrome.

Well... I'm kinda unique xD.

Wow this game has got higher reviews than I expected, I thought it was going to be an all over shit fest. It appears to be just average.

Why did they make this game at all?

I saw my first boogie commercial today =D. This game may actually sell better than what a few people on here think. I highly doubt that most people who will buy this game even know that video games get reviewed. Here is a probable scenario:

1. Preteen girl sees a commercial of a game where she can emulate dancing and singing to her favorite Pussycat Dolls song on her Wii AND it comes with a free mic.

2. Said preteen girl begs mom to buy her the game.

3. Mom buys the girl Boogie.

4. Girl actually has FUN playing the game (in her mind she's really doing the dance moves and singing these songs).

5. Preteen girl plays the game with all her girlfriends and they want to buy it too.

6. The cycle repeates.

The cycle goes and goes until BAM! 250k+ copies sold in the US. Reviews for games like this don't matter just like MP8 which got crap reviews but still sold very well.

anyone dare to guess how the sales will go for this game?
the game, being one of a kind, could sell like hot cakes if it does pick up.
though, it could also be a total flop.

250k seem pretty reasonable lifetime, a little on the high end. should do better than BBA though.

the Wii is an epidemic.

Good review.

Sounds like the premise is fairly good, but the execution is sort of broken. This hasn't stopped games like this selling in the past though.

But $60? (US) - for the Wii?? Is this right? Surely it should be a $49 title at most - and closer to $39 as its correct price?

Hopefully we'll see a sequel sometime next year, with all the obvious issues fixed up (and maybe WiiBoard support?).

NOTE - the reason I suspect the game has a heap of older songs is twofold:

i/ Much, much cheaper to license

ii/ Appeal to the older crowd - which is where a lot of the Wii sales are now going

That's because it comes with a USB microphone.

I'm a mod, come to me if there's mod'n to do.

Chrizum is the best thing to happen to the internet, Period.

Serves me right for challenging his sales predictions!

Bet with dsisister44: Red Steel 2 will sell 1 million within it's first 365 days of sales.

I think people will be surprised by the sales of Boogie honestly... just you wait and see :)
