Are you buying it used or new? If new you won't have a problem getting a 2nd gen Falcon or Jasper. I think Jasper models come with built in memory as well though I'm not too sure. If you want to be sure you get a Jasper it'd be best to wait until after the holidays when all the stock has filtered through.

i´m getting a new one....i live in mexico so i´ll get the arcade version because of its lower price ( here it costs the same as a premium one in the states), i think i´ll buy it and hope i get a jasper one or a falcon at least.

if i´m not lucky enough and get an older one, get a RROD and get it replaced....will i receive a new model? i heard somewhere that was the case.

Grahamhsu is right on the monies. The Jasper models (the newest available ones that have 256mb of internal memory for the arcades) will have a batch number of 845X (I believe). Anything higher is assured to be a Jasper.

Also, look out for the 150w Power Supply - the older Falcons are 175w. Falcons, however, are VERY reliable. What you DO NOT WANT would be a X360 with a 203w power supply....That'd be a pre-Falcon. Of course, the chances of you getting one of those must be like.... 1 in 500,000.

- Best Case: Batch #845 or higher, 150w PSU
- Almost Best Case: Batch 854 or higher, 175w PSU (Jasper X360, but older PSU)
- Good Case: Batch #735-844
- The world ends with you: 203w PSU..Batch #734 or lower (that'd mean your console was well over a year old...As Falcons came out on the 35th week of 2007).

Yes, if a newer model X360 breaks, you will get a newer model as a replacement....All newer X360's have HDMI ports. So if it breaks, you'd get a HDMI-enabled 360 back...Which are all of the Falcon model(s).

Ouch I had no idea pricing there was different. Also Mrstickball is more on the monies than me ;_; listen to his advice. Have you considered making a trip to the States or asking someone to buy it for you and send it to you? I'm not too sure how bad shipping costs are from US to MX. Also if you do decide to try to get a US one you should find out if the region's will work out. MX uses NTSC right?

rrod is one the reason i never got an xbox360. When i got tired of waiting for Sony to release the PS3, it was hard watching the nice looking games on the 360 and i didnt have one yet.
