And you think selling off one of the few things making any money would help turn that around? The best would be to disolve the crappy branches (or sell if they can) and focus on what actually makes them money. A one time fee right now won't stop them from loosing money in the future if they don't have their biggest revenue earner.

Besides, net losses were actually 184.9 million. Their total revenue was 1.037 billion.

That isn't a loss of $1.037 billion, that is that the revenue has gone down since during 2006 to $1.037 billion.

according to IGN they did lose 184.9 million USD for 2006, for 2005 they did have a profit of 35.3 million USD.

 Ah that makes more sense still 184.9million is still a big loss for such a company with so many franchise to its name.There most successful franchise is GTA which isnt even theirs they just own the studio that owns it.

Sony would be much smarter buying TakeTwo as a whole instaed of just R*,"Go to the source"then they would get ALOT of franchise exclusive and TakeTwo might agree doubt it unless the money was right.

I seriously doubt this is happening. If, however, this did happen then that would be MASSIVE for Sony.

I will wait for confirmation from Sony or Take-Two though, as it sounds too good to be true for Sony.

Sony's main profits where from SCE and are more willing to invest in their GamingDivision than MS is to invest in their GamingDivision due to MSGamingStudios never turning a profit AND still $6-7billion in the red SCE is only $1-2billion in the red and that is expected after such investment in the PS3.

Shame GTAIV wouldnt become exclusive but hey PS3 gets 2 exclusives and X360 gets DLC i think we know who won that deal.Or maybe R* has chosen to be like Insomniac and not owned by Sony but only make PS games thats why the next 2 games from R* will be PS3 exclusive.

Or "under our wing" could just mean they are sending over a bunch of developers to help them with working with the core.  From all accounts a lot of developers could use that kind of help.
