PS3 Bioshock 2, possible delay or cancellation?

Notice how the only platform TBA is Bioshock2. Given the poor sell through of the PS3 Bioshock, could retailers be balking on ordering the PS3 sequel? Or perhaps they are just anticipating a delay with the PS3 version, possibly pushing it outside a fiscal 2009 release.

umm, HIGHLY doubtful. Any third party devs would be stupid to ignore the PS3 (or 360) installed base. Bioshock sold so poorly because it was a one year port at full price. I don't think that they will make that same mistake again.

I want Mafia II!

No way. They either want to keep it a surprise or are debating whether to make it timed exclusive or same day release, they'll probably go with the latter.

2K clearly weren't happy with 2 million BioShock sales on the 360, so they made a PS3 port. This sold even worse, so they've realised that timed exclusivity is pointless, they might as well make it same day release. This would easily net them another million sales at LEAST.

It's definitely not being cancelled. That makes no sense, considering that the first place the BioShock 2 teaser was available to watch was ON THE PS3 VERSION OF BIOSHOCK!

Probably considering a Wii release also.

Doesn't matter to me, i'll be picking it up on the 360 just so I can keep the 2 games on the same console.

I dont think the releases would be staggered at all...it would be an unwise move

If they want maximum sales they will release simultaneously.

Why does that suggest the PS3 version is in trouble? Maybe Sony is going to start buying timed exclusives. Take a look at multiplatform sales between the PS3 and the 360, that would be a lot of revenue to give up. The only reason they released Bioshock on the PS3 was because they are planning to release the sequel on the PS3.

They didn't make the PS3 port of Bioshock because they weren't happy with 360 version sales. They made it because they thought they'd make a profit out of a PS3 port.

If they don't make a PS3 port of Bioshock 2, it's either because they think it's not profitable or because they don't have the resources (money, personnel, whatever) to do it .
