I find that when many companies are on top they seem to start working less hard and take things for granted than they would if they were struggling in second or third place. For example Nintendo isn't even putting much of an effort into the two of the biggest gaming shows this year, Leipzig Games Convention, which is the biggest in Europe, and Tokyo Game Show, which is the biggest in Japan (and likely the World since E3 was downsized).

I know some people will reply back that Nintendo usually doesn't do much at the Tokyo Game Show anyways but strangely enough back in 2005 when they were struggling they made an appearance and a presentation and made an effort.

E for All.

I'm sorry but the fact that they're the flagship company for THE FREAKING SUCCESSOR TO E3 pretty much negates anything you have to say.

legend what you wrote is partly true. There is another angle to look at.

Nintendo have already shown many things they are releasing in 2007 and early 2008 before E3 so they don't have new content to show us or don't want to reveal the whole game to people. Another theory of mine is they arn't trying to show boat to much to let 3rd party developers feel like hmm Nintendo arn't really doing much of their own maybe we should make a game in this genre or that genre on the wii since the console is selling so well and we can exploit the market etc....

I really don't know. However I am not worried they didn't do much this E3 and beyond as far as to impress us.

I will start worrying next year if they have nothing exciting to show us.

Yes i know wii fit was big to some people however I go to the gym so no need for that for me so that is why I did not find E3 that exciting this year.

There is a trailer of the game on gametrailers.

The trailer dissapointed me slighty I wanted to see more.

They weren't the flagship company of E3.  Also I was talking about the Leipzig and Tokyo Game Shows.

You're right but I just have the feeling if they weren't successful right now you'd be seeing Metroid Prime 3 adds *everywhere* and a real push to sell consoles instead of just sitting back and doing nothing.  And this isn't a slam against Nintendo, because Sony did the same thing and it's what made their latest launch a relative disaster.  Same with Microsoft, they only did something about their console's hardware problems after it started to cost them a lot of sales and produced a lot of bad press.

oh yer i won't argue that if they were second they be trying harder. I just fell that since there on top they don't want to show boat to much adn get big heads which later on will make them lazy. I really think they playing it safe. However I don't know what those little japanese heads (by that i mean physically) are thinking.

Like I said next years E3 better blow my socks off with amazing new IPS etc.. or I won't be happy.

Around the Network

People thought Nintendo was lazy last gen too so I don't see the value of the theory that now they're back on top they've gotten sloppy. MP3 will get all the ads it needs, I'm sure of it. I don't see the same excitement for this game though as as Brawl or Galaxy but it will be pretty big.

GB is that you?

I didn't say E3. I said E For All. E3 isn't the successor to itself.

E for All was immediately created in response to the downscaling of E3 last year. It is the next biggest show to TGS, and Nintendo is headlining it. They haven't participated in TGS for like a decade and Leipzig isn't that big, its only getting hyped because people didn't get their fix from E3.

E3 4 All is at the end of this month, right?

Nobody is crazy enough to accuse me of being sane.

Though we are still waiting for the supposedly surprise coming in September about the Wii Channels.... I vote DEMO CHANNEL with the first one being a Prime 3 demo [even though the game might already by out].

It is a hardcore game through and through. You will get your ass kicked by bosses. You will be stumped by the sometimes complex, but never overbearing, exploration.
