It is a virtual tie. You're looking at a difference of ~ 500K in 2 years. Know how much that is? 5K each week. They are selling dead on equal right now.

The 360 did sell more than the Ps3 2 years in a row, but if Ps3 takes off in the 3rd year (I doubt it will), that little difference will mean squat.

In Japan and Europe PS3 is doing BETTER.

Gran Turismo 3 - 1,06 mln. in 3 weeks with around 4 mln. PS2 on the launch.
Gran Turismo 4 - 1,16 mln. with 18 mln. PS2 on the launch.

Final Fantasy X - around 2 mln. with 5 mln. PS2 on the launch.
Final Fantasy X-2 - 2.4 mln. with 12 mln. PS2 on the launch.

 

1.8 mln. PS3 today(2008.01.17) in Japan. Now(2009.04.30) 3.16 mln. PS3 were sold in Japan.
PS3 will reach 4 mln. in Japan by the end of 2009 with average weekly sales 25k.

Ps3 will come 2nd because of the 10 year plan. The 360 will IMO only sell for about 6 or 7 years, while the PS3 will sell for about 10.

Only deluded Sony fan boys believe the PS3 will catch up and over take the XBox 360.
PS3 to overtake XBox 360, providing the XBox 360 is no longer being produced and sold on the game market.
XBox 360 will always have price as an advantage for the next two to three years.
By the time the PS3 reaches a $200 sales price it will be old technology and the new console generation will have started.

I love this argument.  Especially when it's supported with facts such as: 1) People didn't buy the Wii to play games.  In fact, I bought mine to use as a vacuum.  It sure is good at collecting dust.  2) Price is the only reason any console was able to sell this year.  Look at how the 360 Arcade outsold the Wii.  Seriously just give up.  

What an amusing thread.  I feel like I just travelled through time.  My, what a lot of crow people had to eat lol.  And wow, people are still using the '10-year-plan' line.

I don't think it is going to happen. Despite all the reasons to get a PS3 over a 360, most people don't see a point in paying more money for a lot of the same games.
