hmm...I'm not sure what to think here..I think you should try and get used to playing like that first

like I did playing Wii sports..it's not that hard..

once you try and forget you're holding a controller..it feels alot more natural

if you think inside the limited box of classic controllers
it'll feel bad..probably..

but aiming is too damn easy and natural with it..Fallout would rock..also menu navigation...so much better if I could just point and click

I think that a Wii game could sell 1 million and a HD game could sell 3 million, and the Wii game would be more profitable. Of course if it is a lower budget HD game this would not be true. But I think Carnival games has made 2k more money(net profit) than say MGS4 has made Konami.

So in my opinion, even if the 360 games sell a lot, there is more money to be made on the Wii. Look at games like De Blob, that game would never had been made for the HD consoles, but I think by now THQ is turning a solid profit.

So it is not about which console brings in the most revenue... It is which console allows for the most healthy net profit. A Wii user base = to HD(total) strikes me as that.

there are only a few genres I would always buy the PS3 version (Shooter, certain sports, etc)

Pointing your wiimote at the screen is in no way more comfortable than holding a controller in your lap.  Now the Zap gun is possibly more what I'd be going for, but they messed that up by puting the nunchuck on the thing too.

I played wii sports for a month, I got used to it.  In all likelyhood my not having fun with it probably had more to do with my dislike of sports games rather than the wiimote, which were obviously better than playing such a game with a traditional controller.

Until they do the wiimote controller thing better, ill stick with my traditional controller, and turning the wiimote sideways is crap.

You make the point that its better to point and click in for menu navigation, but in reality its slower unless you've mastered the wiimote.  If they released a new controller with fallout 3/4 on the wii, id possibly go for that.

Wow, it's going to take a while for you to hear everything you need to, so make sure you're sitting down (why wouldnt you be)

1) The difference between a Gamecube and a Wii is much more significant than the difference between a PS3 and PS2 or 360 and xbox. That is why the Wii is winning this generation

2) In the past, 3rd parties have sold almost as many games on the 360 as they have on the Wii, which is impressive I'll admit, because the Wii only has slightly better 3rd party software sales, but has a much higher userbase.

Or is it that impressive? The Wii didn't initially get the big 3rd party releases, so to still have their 3rd party games outsell the 360's is very impressive for the Wii. This situation is going to look even better for Nintendo as they continue to increase marketshare, and as 3rd parties start to shift their attention to the Wii (see Dragon Quest)

3) Even if the combined 3rd party sales of a PS360PC games outsells the Wii version, so what? It costs a lot more to develop a game for 3 platforms than 1, especially for the PS3

Fixed.  At least here in the states nearly every show on every major chanel is already in HD.  HD is now the standard for any thing over 30".  Don't beleave me, go to best buy and see if you can buy a 30" or bigger TV that is not HD.  You won't be able to because they don't carry them and havn't for over a year.

The only thing SD will be used for is small screens where resolution doesn't matter( such as hand held and phones)

hmm I understand where you're coming from Dharh..but with motion plus this problem will be resolved..

and yes..don't blame it on Wiisports if you dislike sports..lol

lol...I won't say it'll explode..so what if channels are in HD they are still in SD
HD is an extra feature and it'll take time for people to adopt it..don't expect it to EXPLODE the entire explosion theory is stupid..

stagnant growth is not real growth...few people will go HD for now..as in..next 2 years

it costs a hell of alot..and the improvements are MINIMAL
also..HD means SD for lower price..so...

AND don't forget the recession...


sorry...I fail to see how HD will suddenly JUMP BOOST into the standard..wouldn't it mean the 360 and PS3 would also become standard..since it's all people would care about?...

It has been a few years where most TVs over 30 inches are HDTVs, and most TV shows have been broadcast in HD, and yet the Wii continues to dominate in sales in this climate ... As I said before the Wii and PS3 launched, HD is not going to be the selling feature HD-console fans think it will be until the next (or possibly the following) generation. People don't just have to want HD, they have to become so used to HD that they reject all things SD before SD truely dies out ...

i think most 3rd party dev's are just lazy. it seems only sega gets it on the wii and hvs as well with its conduit game.

You HD fanboys can say what you want but western companies are all losing money except Activision and Ubisoft.
