Get a clue. SD is in its death phase. you are aware that the next Wii will be HD. Even the Wii with decade old tech knows SD is not ever going to be the standard again.

SD is not going anywhere anytime soon. Over the next year or 2 HD is going to EXPLODE (as a format) as producing content in HD is more ACCESSABLE. If a show isn't already in HD, it will be or it will be cancelled so that companies have the money in the bank to buy the more HD equipment.

Fixed. At least here in the states nearly every show on every major chanel is already in HD. HD is now the standard for any thing over 30". Don't beleave me, go to best buy and see if you can buy a 30" or bigger TV that is not HD. You won't be able to because they don't carry them and havn't for over a year.
The only thing SD will be used for is small screens where resolution doesn't matter( such as hand held and phones)
