Well considering it sold 2 million in US alone in November, I think my prediction might actually be quite conservative



 

Predictions:Sales of Wii Fit will surpass the combined sales of the Grand Theft Auto franchiseLifetime sales of Wii will surpass the combined sales of the entire Playstation family of consoles by 12/31/2015 Wii hardware sales will surpass the total hardware sales of the PS2 by 12/31/2010 Wii will have 50% marketshare or more by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  It was a little over 48% only)Wii will surpass 45 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  Nintendo Financials showed it fell slightly short of 45 million shipped by end of 2008)Wii will surpass 80 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2009 (I was wrong!! Wii didn't even get to 70 Million)

Im base'n this "guess" on the fact alot of people will own Wii's by then and will be moving to the portable systems (DS and/or PSP) or be moving on to the HD consoles in vice versa.

But it'll most likely be around 70 - 85 mill sad to say.

Atleast DS will be around 150 Mill to 200 Mill with ease.

The DS breaking 150 million before the end of next year would be rather incredible. If you're right, it will be very fun to watch.

So...Wii took 2 years to sell 40 mil and you think it'll repeat that in half the time?

Are you basing this on last November's sales which include black friday and early holiday shopping? You do realize that that doesn't represent normal yearlong sales I hope?

 

I don't mean to hate, but some of these Wii predictions are getting pretty far fetched

67 is too low, Wii will be around 45 million at the end of this year, give or take a million or so, meaning that according to your prediction only 22 million will be sold in 2009, waaaay too low.

Heh. i dont like guessing in sales because i really dont care about them, but the DS is really intersting to mean because it just has so much power in the gaming market.

So yeah 150 Mill would be my guess or at the very least around that neigborhood.

 Actually i'm basing it on earlier Wii sales, the november sales make me think it might fdo even more, Wii has been supply constrained its entie lifespan, its production is being ramped up and its clear that when supply is there, so is demand
