Depends on how deep they want to cut into the numbers for January... and how big their "minor" boost was.

All it means is there is no money for a price cut. When we see the results of the restructuring the whole company is doing, then we will see what happens. In this economy, Sony is losing tons of money and it can't keep it up. If SCE is not able to make a profit, don't expect it to be exempt from cuts.

I know, but to insist that these NPD numbers made Sony fire people is just stupid.

I want to point this out from the NPD report microsoft:

"With $298 million in third-party game sales in November, the Xbox 360 has generated more revenue at retail for third-party publishers than the PS3 and Wii combined this generation. (November NPD data)"

and the 360 attach rate is 8.1 that's beastly.

and this is the PS3 this year compared to last year:

Nov. 2007 / Nov 2008 = Differential
Playstation 3: 466K / 378K = -88K

That reads like the 360 made more money in software in November than the Wii & PS3 have made combined since release.

lol everyone stop getting excited, the ps3 is not dead as some idiots are saying. im sure wony wont mind a 2 to 1 difference expecially when the price is that cheap. if they can hold for only 2 to 1 in december it aint that bad. dont know about anyone else but i thought the gap would be bigger.

Ehm no it doesn't. It says 3RD PARTY software. Which means in overall software Wii genrerated more revenue, otherwise they'd have used that.
