Forums - Microsoft - Any 360 owners NOT buying Halo 3?

not buying it..least not this year

I don't own a 360 right now. If I buy one my priorities would be Mass Effect, Bio Shock, Gears of War, and Eternal Sonata. I really like the 360 line up, and I hope the new hardware and all the great games quell consumer fears. 360 is very innovative and leads the industry in online content and quality action titles.

Halo 3 isn't one of the first titles, it just seems too much like 2. Maybe at a price cut or if several of my friends buy it so we can play cooperative.

(EDIT: LOL, I called it Trusty Bell)

(EDIT2: The Cooperative mode looks really good)

I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.

xbox controllers were MADE for FPS
they are almost perfect

*twitches* Surely that counts as just flamebait.

"This is the same argument everyone keeps saying about Halo 3 not being a system seller. You do realize, as I stated above, that there isn't a Halo game on the 360? They were both original Xbox games. If someone were a Halo addict and that is all they really played, there would be no reason to get a 360 now would there? Sure, the 360 is backward compatible and I'm sure a lot of original Xbox owners have uprgraded, but this argument doesn't hold water and logically makes no sense whatsoever. If anything holds the 360 back it during the launch of Halo 3, it won't be lack of people wanting a console to play it but will much more likely be people concerned about the quality of the console... "

Yeah it holds water, Alot ppl bought the 360 in antipation of halo 3 and have been waiting for it to come. In threads about halo 3, I bet that most ppl there already have got their 360 for it and the minortiy are waiting to buy 360 when comes out.
Same goes for ps3 alot ppl who have bought in antipation of mgs4 etc.
There will be a small sales spike and then back to the same sales for the 360. Maybe lower because it has competion now, sony and nintendo will be dropping big games too, which will take sales away from the 360. just look at the big 3 Nintendo are dropping.

Doubtful. I'm not a big fan of the FPS genre, as it's just about as stale as the general JRPG genre.

I *might* pick it up if its $30 and I can play 4p co-op through campaign.

Yes the FPS has become quite stale but there are still lots of games that go new ways, System Shock and Deus Ex come to mind, Bioshock Mass Effect and the newly announced Rage should also add some depth to the genre, I´m not going to say Halo is in any way a revolution but does every new game have to be one ??? If Halo 3 does what the Halo searies has been doing best up till now I will definitly get it as soon as I have a 360.

And yes I´m actually a PC games when it comes to FPSs but Halo is one of the few I love playing on a console.

Mass Effect isn't an FPS, its a RPG.

I'm definitely not buying Halo (at least not this year). There are way too many other games that I need to tackle first.

I still don't get what the hype is about Halo. The online component is great, but that's about it.

Consoles I Own: NES, SNES, N64, GC, GBA, DS, X360, Wii

No - I generally hate FPSers.

There are still *a lot* of people playing Halo 2 on Xbox Live with an original Xbox. I would assume that at least some of them are going to upgrade when the inevitable exodus of players go to Halo 3.

As for me I'll be buying it but I'm unsure if I'll be playing online with it. I'm a little weary of online games since I was pretty addicted to Unreal Tournament at one time (I was in a clan, etc).
