The best thing to complete this would be FFVII either ported to the DS and/or remade for the Wii.



A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

I hope both J-consoles have a good amount of JRPGs... Wii seems it's on the way, because now it has DQ10, PS3 has FF13, but it is until now that it has the 1st exclusive JRPG (WKC)... I don't care which one turns out as the winner in amount of good JRPGs, as long as it is one of them...

No, it's not 360 hating, its just personal taste and console choice, i like Tales of Vesperia and Lost Oddysey, and i wish both of them would've been in one of the J-consoles (one of them can)...

I see the Wii getting more RPG support, but since they are selling on the 360, it will likely keep some of that as well.

The PSP is still getting some RPG support also.

The PS3 looks to be getting the shaft here.

I'm surprised how shafted the PS3 is getting considering that it had FF support right out of the gates.

I guess Dragon Quest really is the one that determines the shift.

That was based on an assumption the system would repeat the last two. The support was also started well before the Wii controller was shown, before the PS3 price announcement, and before it became clear that HD game development was costing way too much.

Soriku, I think it'll depend on the developer. If Level 5 makes it, looks for something pretty. But if SE makes it, expect them to use DQ:Swords engine.

Just so we're clear here: Dragon Quest is SE's second most profitable brandname. DQX will have a massive budget and will apply to all quality standards Horii wants it to apply. No matter who will develop it. And I don't understand how people seriously  can say things like "if SE makes it  it will be crap..." while eagerly waiting on the next screenshot for FF13. SE main series is pure quality. That's why SE is on the top for 20 years.

 

By saying it will use the DQS engine, I just meant that they would be able to make it faster (2 years instead of 3).

My comment had nothing to do with quality of the game at all. I know that Level 5 has about six more games to work after White Knight and DQ9. I figured a switch was incoming.

Again, using the DQ:S engine wouldn't be bad as the game doesn't look terrible.

They have the Crystal Tools for the Wii, if you forgot. No need to use the DQS engine.

Level 5 has worked on a lot more before. Before they had all six of those games + DQ IX + WKC (and HD game!). Now it's really just the 6 games plus DQ X which isn't as bad as throwing another HD game in the mix soon. And hey, if they wanna make DC3 just have the WKC team do it...right? And just have the DQ IX team make the Wii one. Which is what they'd do...

I know, but 150 people can only be strecthed so thin........
