The new Tales of Symphonia game is really engaging and fun.. there are parts of it that are really humorous and the battle system is cool, too.

but...

Super Mario Galaxy is nearly perfect and considered to be a gaming classic.

You should go for SMG and pick up TOS later.

If you really like puzzle games you should put Boom Blox somewhere on your list. It's an amazing and underappreciated game.
