Yeah me and my games this holiday season, there's a ton to play on the Wii and not enough time to play it, I mean some pure gold and then I'm still backed up with games that came out late 2007/early 2008 so many games at one time is too much!  And they cater to a core gamer like myself, then on top of all these games there's the WW that's been coming out, I mean who couldn't be satified with the Wii

To me my biggest problem isn't the article, it's the fact that alot of bloggers are being so damn shortsighted. Part of Nintendo's Strategy is once it has secured it's audience is to turn those gamers into heavycore gamers. Whether the PS3/XB360 gamers follow doesn't matter, cause they are going to try and make their own.

...Personally I feel its easier to attach the heavy gamer simply with GREAT games. This is the reason why I think 2009 is going to be an interesting year cause if the Wii holds true to the DS's path, 2009 is when the heavy core gamer will be somewhat satisfied.

No the core gamer should be satisfied this year, the only thing 2009 can do is shut up a few more fanboy arguments against the Wii, Wii already has the best game of this gen being Super Mario Galaxy, then you have amazing games this year like No More Heroes, Smash Brothers, Mario Kart, Okami, Call of Duty World at War, Animal Crossing, Shaune Whites Snowboarding with the balance board, Skate It also with balance board functions, but then still have fanboys crying cause apparently Wii doesn't have anything in 2008...

If they parelleled each other in terms of the games sold then I would say that they are competing directly for the same customers. There is overlap but there are segments which are completely not interesting in the PS/360 and there are segments which are not interested in the Wii and the game sales indicate that.

They are competing in the video games market, theres no doubt there. Its really a question of how much they are competing really. The interesting point is the fact that in terms of the people who visit this site, the PS/360 take the majority of like minded individuals and perhaps this is the source of the complaints about the Wiis 3rd party library.

Majority of those segments are called fanboys...

Funny how its the PS360 people are complaining about a system they don't like, making points like that, yet ignore the support the Wii does have.

Anyone not a fanboy would be interested in all consoles like myself and what great games they can get on each, but logic shows how Wii and PS3 + a gaming PC is the perfect choice this gen cause you miss out on virtually nothing and get the best out of each game you buy.

Only reason the Wii isn't "competing" with the PS360 is because its whipping their asses and fanboys cannot accept it. If the Wii was being beaten then they would be saying "we knew the Wii couldn't compete with the PS360" but because it is thumping them then it isn't competing. LOL
