To me my biggest problem isn't the article, it's the fact that alot of bloggers are being so damn shortsighted. Part of Nintendo's Strategy is once it has secured it's audience is to turn those gamers into heavycore gamers. Whether the PS3/XB360 gamers follow doesn't matter, cause they are going to try and make their own.
...Personally I feel its easier to attach the heavy gamer simply with GREAT games. This is the reason why I think 2009 is going to be an interesting year cause if the Wii holds true to the DS's path, 2009 is when the heavy core gamer will be somewhat satisfied.
The Interweb is about overreaction, this is what makes it great!
...Imagine how boring the interweb would be if everyone thought logically?
